It smells like the first annual #InternationalManedWolfDay! Maned wolves mark their territory using their own pungent scent glands. “They love all things stinky,“ says Keeper Monica. Our maned wolves enjoy novel fragrance enrichment like cologne or musk. The stinkier, the better! pic.twitter.com/8i6WsxwUzl

Happy first annual #InternationalManedWolfDay!

Today, we celebrated with special talks and enrichment for maned wolves Rocko and Sadie! Did you know maned wolves are actually neither fox nor wolf, but they ARE the largest canid in South America? pic.twitter.com/W587p5y0aa
The maned wolf is more closely related to other South American canids than it is to our familiar Gray Wolves of North America. Despite their size they rely on fruit as a major part of their diet in the wild. #internationalmanedwolfday #manedwolf #sunsetzoo #zoos #zoophotography pic.twitter.com/YgNfKrqezq

Hi, Scarlet! 👋

We're celebrating the very first #ManedWolfDay today! Sometimes referred to as a “fox on stilts,” maned wolves are neither a fox nor a wolf! Rather, they are their own distinct species. Plan your next Zoo visit and meet our maned wolves, Scarlet and Ty! pic.twitter.com/Vlj7SjjbJT
