What people call you: Nishigai-san
Department:Software Department, Marketing Solution
Year joined:November, 2021
Hometown:Beijing, China

1:Tell us about your background
After graduating from college in Canada, I joined an FX company in Toronto and worked there for 2 years doing marketing. Afterwards, I returned to China, where I was born, and worked at a design consulting firm for 2 years doing project management. After leaving that job, I started a landscaping company in China with an acquaintance. There, I served as the COO and project manager, and over two years, we completed landscaping construction projects totaling about 100,000 square meters in Guizhou and Hanan provinces. I came to Japan in 2017 and started attending a Japanese graduate school in 2018. During my time there, I spent five months on an exchange program at Mannheim Business School in Germany. After graduating, I worked in the investment planning department at a Japanese company, where I was responsible for sourcing and proposing M&A deals in line with the company’s policies and strategies, as well as determining corporate value. Then, in November 2021, I joined beBit.

2:Why did you join beBit?
My previous job as part of the internal investment team was different from what I wanted to do, so I started job hunting. Through an agent, I was introduced to beBit, and during the interview I was informed that beBit had just acquired a certain Taiwanese company and was about to enter the PMI (Post-Merger Integration) phase. I felt that I would be able to leverage my background from China to deeply involve myself in this business, and I also wanted to experience the toughness of PMI, so I decided to join beBit.

3:Please tell us about the work you do at beBit
I am working on the business planning for OmniSegment (OS). Specifically, I work on the OS partner program, negotiate with the beBit TECH team, and handle contract-related paperwork. I’m not particularly bound by job titles and am willing to do anything necessary.

4:Tell us one thing you like about beBit
One thing I love about beBit is the very comfortable working environment. For example, even with work-related issues or things I don’t have answers to, I can consult with my superiors or team members and get help to find a solution. The team’s strength is amazing. Also, there are many unique individuals at beBit (in the best way possible), which makes it incredibly interesting haha.

5:What do you do during your free time?
In terms of relaxing during my private time, I enjoy cooking. Trying out various new recipes, watching movies, and having drinks at home is fun for me. Additionally, I work out at the gym. Seeing my max lifting weight gradually increase each time I work out gives me a great sense of accomplishment haha.

6:What’s something that hasn’t changed about you since you were a child?
My insatiable curiosity.
Since I only have one life, I want to experience everything that seems interesting. Now that I'm an adult, things are different, but when I was younger, there were times when I got into slightly dangerous situations haha.

7:If you could be reborn, what would you want to be?
Most people probably won’t get the reference, but I could be reborn, I would want to be the Morty who goes on adventures with Rick from C-137 in the animated series “Rick and Morty.” I think it’d be super fun haha.

8:Which of the 16Personalities are you?
I am an INFJ (Advocate).

9:What is something that has made you happy recently?
One thing that made me happy recently was going back to China last November and seeing my grandparents healthy and well. I hadn’t seen them for four years because of COVID, so I was very happy to meet them again.

10:Tell us about any challenges you would like to attempt
I’d like to try programming. Even if I can’t write code myself, I want to understand the logic, and at the very least, I’d like to be able to use ChatGPT to write simple codes.
