【Inside beBit】Software Department - Ikuta-san

Inside beBit - A project in which we ask 10 questions about a beBit member's work and personal life. We hope that “Inside beBit” will provide an opportunity to get to know more about the individuals you work with.
In this issue, we had Ikuta-san from the Software Department answer our questions!

Software Department - Ikuta-san

What people call you:Ikuta
Department:Software Department, Sales & Marketing Manager
Year joined:2009
Home town:Kobe, Hyogo

1.Why did you join beBit?
I first learned about beBit because a senior member of the university volleyball team I was a part of was an employee here.
Back then (2007), website consulting companies were rare, and since I had an interest in digital technology, I applied for a job and was fortunate enough to be accepted.
What ultimately made me decide to join beBit was the strong feeling that beBit is a company that values its people. After receiving a job offer, there was a dinner with the executives at the time, and half of the employees participated in that dinner. There, an executive took my hand enthusiastically and said “Let’s change the world together.”
I felt that if they were willing to go this far, I wouldn’t regret betting at least part of my life on this company, and that became my motivation to join.

2.Please tell us about the work you do at beBit
Currently, I am the sales and marketing manager for “OmniSegment,” a marketing automation (MA) tool within the Software Business Department, which is responsible for the development and delivery of beBit’s software products. OmniSegment is a new product that was introduced in Japan in 2023, so the team has a startup-like atmosphere.
As a result, my role extends beyond just sales and marketing. I am also involved in areas such as development roadmap planning, product design, and team formation, all with the aim of growing the product.

3.Tell us what you value most when working
I value taking responsibility for my work.
I believe that each individual must be responsible for accomplishing their duties in order to strengthen an organization. As a professional, I make sure to hold myself accountable, while at the same time, expecting my colleagues to be accountable as well. I am constantly mindful of fostering a healthy relationship in order to achieve this.

4.How should members communicate when working with you?
As I value taking responsibility and am not the best at having a soft demeanor during work, people often think I am a scary person.
In reality, I am typically not angry, and in my private life, I’m usually the one getting teased. I would be happy if people approached me more without being scared.

5.Tell us one thing you like about beBit
One thing I appreciate is that there are many serious and earnest people here. At beBit, we have people with various positions and abilities, but everyone uniformly approaches their work seriously and earnestly to achieve results. As reflected in our company name “beBit,” we aim to achieve great outcomes and a prosperous society through steadily and sincerely accumulating small efforts.

Working with such dedicated colleagues makes it easy for me to work, and it becomes a source of motivation to strive together and achieve results.

6.Tell us about your goals at beBit
I want to grow our new product “OmniSegment,” and strengthen beBit’s entire software business by integrating it with our other products. To achieve beBit’s mission, both our consulting and software segments must succeed on a global scale. I see my role as ensuring the growth of our software to achieve this.

7.What do you do during your free time?
I spend a lot of my private time with people at beBit as well. While I often go on vacation or play board games with everyone, my recent favorite is golf.
There are many beBit members who play golf, and twice a year there is a golf competition with current and past members of beBit.
Even outside of the competition, I play at least once a month with beBit members, and while I’m not great at it, I’m completely addicted to the sport.

8.Please tell us about your talent you have, or something you are proud of
I have many, many board games (analog games). I became interested in board games around 2018, and when I realized it, I had more than 150 games at home.
If you’re wondering what’s interesting about board games or what the difference between board games and just standard cards is, let me know. Let’s play board games together!

9.What makes you the happiest? Or, tell us about when you were happiest recently
I enjoy creating an environment where everyone is having fun.
Whether it be planning the event or hosting it, or even doing backend work, I’m happiest when I see everyone enjoying themselves.
So, if anyone wants to plan anything, let’s do it together!

10.Tell us about any challenges you would like to attempt
As I was born in 1984 and turned 40 this year, I feel that I’ve reached the midpoint of my life.
As I enter an age where my abilities as a businessperson are increasingly demanded, I want to be more conscious of the value I can provide and strive to enhance it.
At beBit, I aim to challenge myself in various areas without limiting my scope too much. In my private life, I want to grow by gaining inspiration from others and learning from books.
