14日目　Day14

今日はオーナーの計らいで、教科見学会に参加させてもらいました。幼稚園生から中学三年生まで全員参加です。ケープコースト大学内にある動物管理センターに行きました。猿やモルモット、蛇にワニ、子どもたちは少し怖がりながらもキラキラした目で動物たちを見つめていました。気づけばあっちやこっちに走り回る生徒を見つつ、行動していかなければならない教科見学会。改めて先生の大変さを思い知りました。各学年1クラスしかない分、本当に縦のつながりが強くてそこが強みでもあるこの学校。子供達と過ごす中でたくさんのポジティブエネルギーと学びを得られる日々。本当にガーナに来てよかったです。明日は祝日のため学校はお休み。来週から生徒たちはテストウィークに入ります。私は本格的なナマズ市場の調査に乗り出せそうです。

Today, the owner arranged for me to take part in a field trip. All students from kindergarten to JHS students participated. We went to the Animal Centre at the University of Cape Coast. Monkeys, guinea pigs, snakes and crocodiles, the children looked at the animals with sparkling eyes, even though they were a little scared. Once again, I realised how hard it is for teachers because they need to take care of so many children who run away during field trips. The school has only one class per grade, so the vertical connections are strong, which is one of the strengths. Every day I get a lot of positive energy and learn from spending time with the children. I am really glad to have come to Ghana. Tomorrow, school is closed for a public holiday. Next week the students will start their test week. So, I will begin to catfish market research.
