Humans, why ?

These days, (start of April) Ukraine and Russia are invading most of the Breaking News; All I hear on the news is the war, how cruel the soldiers are, how innocent citizens of Ukraine are at the risk of suffering or even dying from Chemical/Biological weapons.

The outbreak of the tragedic war has made me ask, Humans... Why?

As a student who studies three Sciences (physics, chemistry, biology) I sometimes come across some interesting and exciting things that humans have discovered. These discoveries were often made by the hardship and effort that was put on by the scientists. 

For example, in a physics class I recently had, I learned the process of nuclear fission and fusion; The reaction where nuclei of atoms split or join, producing a huge amount of energy in the process. I was taught that it was the great physicist, Albert Einstein who has come up with the idea of this nuclear reaction. His discovery of E=mc^2 has allowed humanity to produce more clean energy from nuclear power plants, understand the process in the Sun, and many more useful things that improved the quality of life. 

However, as soon as this beautiful discovery was made, humans knew what to do with this knowledge: make nuclear weapons to destroy a whole city. Einstein was a pacifist, (hate war, love peace) and he strongly believed that no one should be allowed to use this knowledge to kill innocent children. Sadly, on August 6th and 9th, atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

All of his effort in research, all of his hard work, and all of the glory in the achievement were used for cruelty.

Now, it is thought that there are some possibilities that Russia may soon use chemical or biological weapons to Ukraine.

Just why don’t we use science to improve our way of life, and instead destroy precious lives?

Science has a great potential to bring humanity to the next level of civilization, but it won’t be possible until humans can accept the small differences between them and stop destructing each others’ lives. 

I strongly believe that Russia definitely should not use chemical or biological weapons and take away the futures of citizens in Ukraine.
