Gentle Interpreter
Dear Diary,
Yesterday, any transportation suspended their operations temporarily because of Emergency Alert. Unfortunately, this time paralleled with a peak time in the morning. Most commuters encountered such a situation. As it happened, Shinichi met a different circumstance.
After reoperating all subways in Sapporo, Shinichi got on the Tozoi Line (Orange Line). Behind one station (Hassamu-Minami, T02) from the Western edge (Miyanosawa, T01), the subway didn’t leave the station immediately. After a few minutes, the conductor announced to all passengers, “We’re stopping because of adjusting time operation with the preceding train. We apologize for delaying the train.”
Shinichi found a group of passengers. They are probably family and inbound. They sat on the bench seat across from Shinichi. He immediately realized they were wondering why the train didn’t leave the station. Shinichi interpreted the announcement from the conductor and explained it to the family group.
“They are adjusting their dia..well, how should I say, timetable. They said we apologize delayed this train.”
A gentle male, probably a member of the family. He recognized what Shinichi said, “Diagram.” Also, a smiling female replied to Shinichi, “Thank you.” He felt happy at this time.
