小説：工場経理マンの奮闘

山梨県の自然豊かな場所に、ABCファクトリーの工場はある。そこで働く田中宏は、工場の原価計算に精通した、30歳の会社員である。

田中は原価計算チームの係長の役職に昇進したばかりで、平社員の時よりも責任が重くなっていた。ABCファクトリーでは、今まではJavaで自社開発した原価計算システムを利用していたが、SAP S/4を導入し、SAP COモジュールで原価計算を行うことを決定した。田中は日々の原価計算業務に加えて、SAP導入プロジェクトにも携わり、多忙な日々を送っていた。

SAP 導入の初期は、トレーニング セッション、ワークショップ、そして無数の設定会議が目まぐるしく行われた。CO モジュールの複雑さにより、学習には大変な時間がかかった。

田中はプロジェクトをさらに深く掘り下げるにつれて、予期せぬ課題に遭遇した。データ移行の不具合、チームメンバーの抵抗、SAP の複雑さにより、プロジェクトが遅延する恐れがあった。

田中はさまざまなモジュール間の複雑な機能を調整し、PPの生産管理からコスト分析までデータがシームレスに流れるようにした。

そして、ついに、本番稼働の日を迎えた。田中は興奮していた。やり切った、という思いがこみ上げていたが、同時に、失敗しないであろうかと不安も隠し切れなかった。すると、嫌な予感は的中し、一部の品目で原価積み上げエラーとなった。SAPコンサルタントと協力して、BOMの構成や作業手順など、詳しく調べてエラーの原因を探り当てた。田中は何とか、エラーを修正して、正しい原価データを完成させることができた。田中は、部下と、コンサルタントに、感謝の気持ちを表現した。
