水は大切 山が大切　Kaleidoscope View

田んぼに水が満たされるとあちこちに水鏡が現れます。田植えの前の数日間だけの景色です。山の水を麓の田畑に行き渡らせているのが堰「せぎ」です。山の恵みと堰のしくみと日々の農作業が美味しいお米を育てます。
Snow melt water trickles down through the mountains into rivers. The irrigation system called “Segi” takes the water to all parts of villages. When the rice fields are filled with clean water, the water surfaces look like a kaleidoscope. The view appears only a few days before the rice seedling are planted in the fields. The mountains, water, and irregation and farming efforts grow healthy and tasty rice.  We love this moment.
