2023年9月録音。父はあまり多くを語らない性格だったので、祖父のように肉声は残っていません。そこで考えたのが、生前最後に父が仲間と演奏したお囃子の演奏から、父の独奏部分だけ抽出すること。今回も、iZotope RX 10を使いました。曲を組み立てていくのはLogic Proで進めていき、ピアノとベースを中心に父の太鼓に合わせてセッションをしました。父は生の太鼓ですが、私は打ち込みになるので、リズムをうまく合わせることと、各楽器がうまく混ざる音色にすることが一番の課題だったと思います。音楽は、父が好んだニューオーリンズの12小節のルールでつくっていて、すごく基礎的なCメジャーの進行です。

Recorded in September 2023. My father didn't talk much, so unlike my grandfather, he doesn't have a real voice left. So, I thought of extracting only the solo parts of my father's hayashi performance, which he played with his friends at the end of his life. This time, I used iZotope RX 10. I put together the song using Logic Pro, and had a session centered around piano and bass along with my father's drums. My father is a live taiko drummer, but I play electronic instruments by programming. The biggest challenge was getting the rhythm right and creating a tone that blended well with each instrument. The music is created using the New Orleans 12-bar rule that my father liked, and it's a very basic C major progression.
