Hurricane Ian has been battering（強く当たる、襲う、打ちのめす）the US state of Florida with powerful winds and a huge storm search that's flooded communities along the Southwest coast.  It's been described as one of the five strongest ever to strike Florida.

The American Rapper Coolio has died in Los Angeles at the age of 59.  Coolio, whose real name was Artis Leon Ivey Jr. was a leading figure in the West Coast rap scene of the 1990s.
