ミュージカル「ライオン・キング」はディズニー映画「ライオン・キング」を基にしたミュージカルです。1997年にアメリカで正式に公開され、ブロードウェイ史上、「オペラ座の怪人」、「キャッツ」、「シカゴ」、「レミゼラブル」に続き5番目のロングラン公演です。

多くの曲はエルトン・ジョンが作曲しており、Circle of Life もエルトン・ジョン作曲、ティム・ライス作詞です。

私は友人に連れられたのをきっかけに、過去５回くらい観ました。
オープニングはシンバの誕生を祝う、このCircle of Lifeの曲から始まります。真っ赤な太陽のもと様々な動物たちが次々と現れ、私はまるでアフリカのサバンナにいるような感覚に陥りました！

今回も邦訳はミュージカルの歌そのままにしてあります。
