Crispy prawns recipe

Prawns is a popular seafood due to its immense health benefits. Crispy prawns is a prawns starter recipe made by frying batter coated prawns till become crisp golden. These prawns fry recipe is very easy to make at home with readily available ingredients from your pantry.
Ingredients you need to make the recipe

  • 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste

  • 200 gram peel and clean prawns

  • 1 tablespoon red chilli powder

  • 1 teaspoon garam masala powder

  • 1 lemon for juice

  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon chat masala

  • 1 teaspoon salt or as a taste

  • 1 tablespoon corn flour or rice flour

  • 1 tablespoon all purpose flour (maida)

  • 8 - 10 curry leaves roughly chopped

  • 2 green chilli finely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon beaten egg ( optional)

  • How to make the recipe

Take the peel and clean prawns in a mixing bowl and add the ginger garlic paste, red chilli powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, chat masala, salt and lemon juice.
Next add the chopped curry leaves, finely chopped green chilli, corn flour and all purpose flour. Pour the beaten egg and mix everything evenly so that the prawns get coated from all sides.
Let them to marinate for 30 minutes to one hour to absorb all the flavours.
Heat oil in a pan and when the oil become hot lower the heat flame to low.
Add the prawns one by one into the oil carefully. Fry them for 3 to 4 minutes or till they become crisp golden. Remove them on a absorbent paper to absorb any excess oil. 
Therefore add the remaining batch of prawns and fry. Serve them hot with restaurant style green chutney and enjoy the yummy crispy fried prawns.
