I’m fineのfineは「元気な」という意味。他に「罰金」という意味もあるの！？

日本人の私達にとって馴染み深いHow are you? I’m fine, thank you.
fineの意味は「元気な」だと思い込んで早〇〇年。
TOEICの勉強を始めてfineには「罰金」という意味もある事を知り、びっくりしたのは言うまでもありません。

単語を覚える時、少しでも自分が面白いと感じる部分を見つけてみるのはいかがですか？
私は自分が生活で使えそうな例文を考える事で、「脳に浸み込め～と」念じながら覚えています。

fine 罰金を使った例文を２つ書いてみました。

①If you park your car in a no-parking zone, you may receive a fine from the local authorities.
車を駐車禁止ゾーンに停めると、地元当局から罰金が科せられる可能性があります。

②The restaurant displayed a notice stating that there would be a fine for customers who smoked in the non-smoking area.
そのレストランは、禁煙エリアで喫煙した顧客には罰金が科される旨の通知を掲示していました。
