【The Last of Us】Speedrun Reflections article. スピードランの反省記事。【03/05】

本日も『The Last of Us』のスピードランを行いました。タイムは昨日よりも大幅にロス……。四時間オーバーしてしまいました。いつもあまり失敗しないようなところで泥沼にハマってしまったのが主な原因です。わりと得意だと思っていた場面でもこのように失敗が多発する時もあるのでよくわからないです。まだまだ詰めが甘いのでしょう。

さて、もう少し細かく反省していきます。

まず最初のランナー戦(暗闇中のランナー3体)。これは先日と同様かなり上手くいきました。ヘッドショットのコツを掴みつつあります。もう少しブラッシュアップできますが、中途半端にタイムを追いすぎると失敗しやすいので、まずはもっとコツを掴むことを優先します。コツを掴み次第もっとタイムを縮めるための意識を強めます。

そして今回はキャピタルに行くまでは一度も死なずに行けたのでタイムは良かったと思います。ダウンタウンの大一番も一発でクリアできました。ヘッドショットを外してグダるかと思いきや、すぐに巻き返せたのが落ち着いていて良かったなと思います。

ここまでタイムが良かったからこそ、苦手な場所とはいえ練習を繰り返したキャピタルで一度死んでしまったのが悔しいです。

そしてキャピタルで死んでしまったことで気が緩んだのかなんなのか知りませんがビルの罠に引っかかった状態でリボルバーで感染者集団と戦う場面で泥沼にハマってしまいました。ここで失敗するとタイムが大幅にロスるのでほんと萎えました。リロードのタイミングが悪かったのと、エイムが悪かったのと、死んでるはずのクリッカーが一瞬止まってまた動き出すバグみたいなのもあり何度も死んじゃいました。
もし弾を外しても落ち着いてリロードしたり仕切り直す精神力が必要です。
そして、今回のスピードラン、この後も物資不足によりプレイングを変える羽目になってしまい、タイムを大幅にロスりました。その物資不足の原因がやはりここです。クリア後にリボルバーの銃弾を確認したところ、6発しかないという……。これで全てが狂いました。

次に、ビルとトラックを動かす場面。ここでは開幕でクリッカーが画面に表示された瞬間に銃を打つと他のランナー2体が出てこなくなるバグのようなものがあるのですが、それに今回は失敗しました。発砲タイミングは悪くなかったと思いますが、物資が足りず猟銃ではなくショットガンだったのがダメかも知れません。リボルバーの銃弾が少ないため少しでも節約しようと猟銃をつかいたくなかったのです。

ピッツバーグに入り、ホテルへ向かう途中、トラックの上で3人を倒して銃弾と棒とアルコールを手に入れる場面があるのですが、そこで棒を取り忘れてしまい(画面に出なかった気がして諦めた)、そのせいでホテルのレストランでの戦闘でのプレイングがいつもと違うパターンになってしまい泥沼にハマってしまいました。

ピッツバーグの大一番、大量の兵士と戦う場面(エリーが猟銃を託される場面)では単純にプレイングミスが多発し泥沼にハマってしまいました。ここは自分なりにパターンを見つけ、安定してクリアできると思っていたので悔しいです。打つのか、しゃがむのか、少し移動するのか、カメラを変えるのか、臨機応変にやらなきゃいけないのに頭が回っていないと上手くいきませんね。練習不足です。

サムやヘンリーと出会い、夜になり、出動。この場面でもリボルバーの数が足りなすぎて泥沼にハマってしまいました。猟銃と弓矢を多用しなんとか切り抜けましたがだいぶ時間はロスしています。

地下水路では謎の暴発行為をしてしまい、ただでさえ物資がないのでもちろんリスタート。無駄にタイムロスしてしまいました。そういえば今回は序盤のスラムに入る前も謎の暴発行為をやってしまい同様のロスが起こりました。落ち着きがないですねほんと。

地下水路を抜けサムと二人で進んでいく場面、なんかストーカーがいつもと違う動きを見せてきて3回くらい殺された気がします。あれはカメラロールの向きが悪くていつもなら襲ってこないストーカーに襲われたのだと思います。ここは一度カメラロールの検証が必要です。

ダム戦が終わり、いなくなったEllieを見つけ出した場面。リボルバーの数が少ない故に猟銃に頼っていたがついに猟銃もなくなりピンチ。
ここでは階段を降りたら瞬時に9mm、猟銃、ディアブロ、と銃を切り替え3人撃破しなきゃいけないスピーディーなプレイが求められます。なのに猟銃がないという。急遽9mm、9mm、ディアブロというパターンにしました。
9mmを使うということはヘッドショットじゃないと殺せません。ただでさえスピーディーなプレイが必須なのに、二人もヘッドショットしなきゃいけないという厳しい展開。
ですが、ノーミスでそこを切り抜けました。突然エイムが上手くなるときがあるのはなんなんでしょう。9mmで2回もヘッドショットを決めた瞬間、脳汁が溢れ出ました。今回の褒めるべきシーンのベスト3に間違いなく入るでしょう。

ラボでは数回死にましたがそこまで泥沼にハマったわけではないです。段々と安定に近づきつつはあります。まだまだ粗だらけなので少しずつ改善していきます。

冬編。最初の鹿を一発クリア、その後の小屋戦も一発クリア。苦手なハシゴ前クリッカーに瓶投げ戦も一発クリア。と、冬編の良いスタートダッシュが切れたかと思いきや、Bloater線で一回だけ死んじゃいました。今回はノーミスで冬編をクリアできる気がしていたのですが残念です。
ここで集中力が切れてしまったのか、謎にその後の冬編はグダグダ死にすぎました。明らかにいつもより失敗が多く、比較的そこまで難しくない場面でも死亡死亡。やっぱスピードランは技術も大事ですがメンタルも大事ですね。

トンネル。弓矢で感染者軍団を遠ざけたかと思いきや、謎にランナー1人が近寄ってきて焦る。とっさにミニショットガンで撃破。これにより他の感染者が集まってくるかと思いきや、こない。念の為弓矢でさらに遠くの方を向かせることに成功。ノーミスでトンネルを抜け、病院にたどり着けました。

病院はほとんど毎回一発クリアです。

反省は以上となります。
本当今回は物資不足による損失が大きいです。物資の数がすべて影響するので、リボルバーの銃弾が6発しかない時点でやり直すべきでした。ここがすべての悪いトリガーでした。これだけは絶対に改善しないといけませんね。

We did another speed run of "The Last of Us" today. The time was much lost from yesterday. ...... I went over four hours. The main reason is that I got bogged down in places where I usually don't make many mistakes. I don't know why, because sometimes I make a lot of mistakes like this even in situations I thought I was rather good at. I guess I am still not very good at filling in the blanks.

Now, let me reflect on the situation in more detail.

First, the first runner battle (3 runners in the dark). This went quite well, as it did the other day. I am getting the hang of headshots. I can brush up a little more, but if I chase the time too much halfway, I'm likely to fail, so I'm going to prioritize getting more of the hang of it first. As soon as I get the hang of it, I'll be more focused on getting more time down.

And this time I think my time was good because I didn't die once until I got to the Capitol. I was also able to clear the big one downtown in one shot. I thought I was going to goof off by missing the headshot, but I was happy that I was able to rewind quickly and calmly. Because my time was so good so far, I was disappointed that I died once in the capitol, which I had practiced repeatedly, even though it is not my favorite place.

And I don't know if I was relaxed because I died in the capitol or what, but I got bogged down in a scene where I had to fight a group of infected people with a revolver while caught in a trap of a building. I was really depressed because if I failed at this point, I would lose a lot of time. I had to reload at the wrong time, my aim was bad, and there was a bug where the clicker, which was supposed to be dead, would stop for a second and then start moving again, so I died many times. If you miss a bullet, you need to have the mental strength to calmly reload and regroup. And, in this speed run, I had to change my playing style due to lack of supplies, which caused me to lose a lot of time. The cause of the lack of supplies was here. After clearing the area, I checked the ammunition in my revolver and found that I only had 6 rounds. ...... This threw everything out of whack.

Next, the building and truck moving scene. There is a sort of bug here that if you hit the gun at the moment the clicker appears on the screen in the opening shot, the other two runners will not appear, and I failed to do that this time. I think the timing of the firing was not bad, but it might not have been good enough that I was using a shotgun instead of a hunting rifle due to lack of supplies. I didn't want to use a hunting rifle to save money because revolver bullets were scarce.

On the way to the hotel in Pittsburgh, there is a scene where I beat three men on a truck to get bullets, a stick, and alcohol, but I forgot to get the stick there (I gave up because I thought it didn't appear on the screen), and because of that, my playing in the battle at the hotel restaurant became a different pattern than usual.I got into a quagmire. In the big game in Pittsburgh, when I was fighting a large number of soldiers (the scene where Ellie was entrusted with a hunting rifle), I simply made too many playing mistakes and got stuck in the mire. It was frustrating because I thought I had found my own pattern here and could clear the scene consistently. I had to be flexible, whether it was hitting, crouching, moving a little, or changing the camera, but if my head is not in the right place, it doesn't go well. I am out of practice.

I met Sam and Henry, and we went out for the night. Even in this scene, I was bogged down because I didn't have enough revolvers. We managed to get through it by using a lot of hunting rifles and bows and arrows, but we lost a lot of time.

In the underground canal, we had a mysterious outburst, and of course we had to restart because we didn't have enough supplies. I lost a lot of time for nothing. Come to think of it, before entering the slum at the beginning of the tour, I also had a mysterious outburst, which caused a similar loss of time. I'm really restless, aren't I?

In the scene when Sam and I were going through the underground canal, I think I was killed three times when Stalker started to move in an unusual way. I think it was because the camera roll was facing the wrong way and the stalker, who usually doesn't attack, attacked me. The camera roll needs to be verified once here.

After the dam battle was over, they found Ellie who had disappeared. Since the number of revolvers is low, they rely on hunting rifles, but finally they run out of hunting rifles and are in a pinch.

In this scene, the player has to switch between 9mm, hunting rifle, and Diablo to destroy the three players as soon as they go down the stairs. But there was no hunting rifle. So we decided to use 9mm, 9mm, and Diablo.

Using the 9mm means you can't kill them without headshots. Even though we had to play quickly, we had to make two headshots, which was a tough situation.

But I got through it with no mistakes. I was so excited when I made two headshots with the 9mm that my brain juice was overflowing. It is definitely one of the top 3 scenes to praise this time.

I have died a few times in the lab, but I have not been that bogged down. We are gradually approaching stability. There are still a lot of rough edges, so we will continue to improve little by little.

Winter. The first deer was cleared in one shot, and the subsequent hut battle was also cleared in one shot. I also cleared the battle against the clicker in front of the ladder and the bottle thrower, which I am not good at, in one shot. I thought I got off to a good start in the winter version, but I died only once on the Bloater line. I had a feeling that I could clear the winter edition with no mistakes this time, but I am disappointed.

I guess I lost my concentration here and mysteriously died too many goofy deaths in the winter version after that. Obviously, I made more mistakes than usual, and died even in situations that were relatively not that difficult. Speedruns are not only about technique, but also about mentality.

Tunnel. I thought I had kept the infected army away with my bow and arrow, but I was in a hurry when one of the runners mysteriously approached me. I quickly destroyed him with a mini shotgun. I thought this would bring the other infected to gather, but they did not. Just to be sure, I succeeded in making them turn toward a farther direction with a bow and arrow. We made it through the tunnel and to the hospital with no mistakes.

The hospital is almost always cleared in one shot.

That's all for my reflections.

Really this time, the loss due to lack of supplies was huge. I should have started over when I had only 6 bullets in my revolver because the number of supplies affects everything. This was the bad trigger for everything here. This is the only thing we definitely need to improve.
