こんにちは！横山です。
毎日の習慣として、１日５問英文法クイズにチャレンジしましょう！本日のテーマは「比較級・最上級」です。日本語を参考に適切な語(句)を選んでください。

(1) ルークはあなたより年上に見えます。
Luke looks [ old / older ] than you.

[解答] older
[解説] ２つのものを比較するときは比較級を使います。原級（もともとのカタチ ）のままではNGです。
Luke looks older than you.（ルークはあなたより年上に見えます）

(2) リョウコはクラスの中で一番背が高いです。
Ryoko is [ the tallest / tallest ] in her class.

[解答] the tallest
[解説] 「最も～」という一番上のものは「１つに定まる（特定できる）」ので、最上級には冠詞theを付けます。
Ryoko is the tallest in her class.（リョウコは彼女のクラスの中で一番背が高いです）

(3) このイスが他のどのイスよりも快適です。
This chair is [ comfortabler / more comfortable ] than any other chair.

[解答] more comfortable
[解説] comfortableはつづりが長いため、比較級はmoreを付けたカタチにします。than any other～（ほかのどんな～よりも）と続けることで、最上級と同じ意味合いを出すことができます。
◆This chair is more comfortable than any other chair.
＝This chair is the most comfortable.（このイスが一番快適です）

This chair is more comfortable than any other chair.（このイスが他のどのイスよりも快適です）

(4) 彼が３人の中で一番気難しい。
He is [ the difficultest / the most difficult ] of the three.

[解答] the most difficult
[解説] difficult はつづりが長いため、最上級はthe mostを付けたカタチにします。
He is the most difficult of the three.（彼が３人の中で一番気難しい）

(5) もっと簡単にできるよ。
You can do it [ easier / more easily ].

[解答] more easily
[解説] doを修飾する副詞easilyを比較級more easilyにしたカタチです。easierは形容詞easyの比較級であり、動詞doを修飾できないためNG。
You can do it more easily.（もっと簡単にできるよ）
