In the autumn of the seventh month, Urashima no Ko (浦島子), a man from Tsutsukawa (管川) in Yosa District (与謝郡) of the Province of Tanba (丹波国), went fishing on a boat and caught a large turtle. The turtle suddenly transformed into a woman. Urashima no ko was moved and made her his wife. The two entered the sea together, traveled to Mount Hōrai (蓬萊山), and saw the land of the immortals. This story is found in another volume.

23rd Year, Summer, 4th Month  
King Munjin (文斤王もんこんおう) of Baekje (百済) passed away. The Emperor called upon Mata no Ō (末多王), the second of the five sons of King Konki (昆支王), who was young but intelligent. The Emperor personally comforted him, giving him a warm admonition, and appointed him as the ruler of Baekje. He also bestowed upon him weapons and dispatched five hundred soldiers from the province of Tsukushi (筑紫国) to escort him. This was the beginning of King Tōsei (東城王). In that same year, Baekje's tribute surpassed the usual amount. Achi no Omi (安致臣) and Umakai no Omi (馬飼臣) of Tsukushi led a fleet to attack Goguryeo (高麗).
