The prince, accompanied by Princess Metori, hastened to visit the Ise Jingu(Grand Shrine). The emperor, thinking that Prince Hayabusawake had escaped, sent Kibi no Homuchibe no Ofuna and Harima no Saeki no Atai Aganoko to pursue and kill him upon capture.

The empress stated, "Although Princess Metori deserves severe punishment, I do not wish for her to be stripped of her garments and exposed when she is killed." Therefore, she commanded Ofuna and his men not to take the jewels worn on the princess’s feet and hands.

Ofuna and his men chased them down, finally catching up near Soni Mountain in Uda. There, the prince and his wife hid in the grass, narrowly escaping. They hurriedly fled over the mountain.
