≪英訳≫

In the third year of Ankō Emperor's reign, in the tenth month, the Emperor's father, Ichinobe no Oshiwa no Miko, and his attendant Saekibe no Nakachiko were killed at Kayano in the province of Ōmi by the order of Ōhatsuse (Yūryaku) Emperor. They were buried together in one grave. Upon hearing that their father had been shot and killed, the princes Woke(をけ) no Mikoto and Oke(おけ) no Mikoto, fearing for their lives, fled and hid.

Kusakabe no Muraji Omi, a retainer  and son of Ata Hiko, secretly took care of the two princes and escaped with them to Yosa District in Tanba Province to avoid danger. Omi changed his name to Tatokuto and continued to live in fear of being executed. He later fled to Shijimi Mountain in Harima Province and, in despair, hanged himself in a stone hut.

The Emperor (later known as Emperor Kenzō) was unaware of Omi's whereabouts. He persuaded his brother, Ōke no Mikoto, to go to Akashi in Harima Province. They both changed their names, calling themselves Tanba no Warawa (the boys from Tanba). They served under Shijimi no Miyake no Obito, a local official. Ata Hiko remained loyal to the princes and served them faithfully.

穴穂（あなほ）天皇(安康天皇)の治世三年目の十月に、(弘計)天皇の父である市辺押磐（いちのべのおしわ）皇子とその従者である佐伯部仲子（さえきべのなかちこ）は、近江国の蚊屋野（かやの）で、大泊瀬（おおはつせ  雄略）天皇の命令により殺されました。二人は一つの墓に一緒に埋葬されました。弘計王（をけのみこと）と億計王（おけのみこと）は、父が射殺されたことを聞き、恐れて共に逃げて隠れました。

従者である日下部連（くさかべのむらじ）使主（おみ）と、その子である吾田彦（あたひこ）は、二人の王子を密かに保護し、危険を避けて丹波国の与謝郡（よさのこおり）に逃れました。使主（おみ）は名前を田疾来（たとくと）と改めた。なお殺されることを恐れ、その後、播磨国の縮見山（しじみのやま）に逃げ、絶望して石室で首をくくって自死しました。

(弘計)天皇（後の顕宗天皇）は使主（おみ）の行方を知りませんでした。彼は兄の億計(おけ)王を説得して、播磨国の明石（あかし）に行き、共に名前を丹波小子（たにわのわらわ）と改めました。そして、縮見屯倉首（しじみのみやけのおびと）の下で仕えました。吾田彦（あたひこ）は離れないで二人の王子に忠実に仕え続けました。
