アメリカの国境問題と地球環境
アメリカ合衆国の南側国境地帯で、通訳・ボランティアとして長年活動した作家が、いま話題の国境危機 the border crisis について寄稿している。
画像では伝わりにくい国境地帯の施設の実態を、彼が体験した異様な「臭い the smell 」で象徴させた書き出しが、印象的だ。
この寄稿には、われわれの視野から外れがちなポイントが、いくつか含まれている。
