環境問題でグレタさん（16）「大人のほうが未成熟」

日本をふくむ世界の若者が参加した「環境ストライキ」の提唱者・スウェーデンの16歳、グレタさんが、ニューヨークの環境行動サミットにあわせて行われたイベントで、5分間、発言した。

“The eyes of all future generations are upon you. And if you choose to fail us I say we will never forgive you. We will not let you get away with this. Right here, right now is where we draw the line.”

これは、大人の愚かさと子どもの賢さを述べている。

事実を直視して語ることができず、未成熟なのは大人のほうだ、という言葉が、とくに印象に残った。

“You are still not mature enough to tell it like it is. You are failing us. But the young people are starting to understand your betrayal.”
