上の４つの分野から選ばれたそれぞれ20数名、合計100人。
今回は、LeadersとShapers からそれぞれ気になった人を二人ピックアップしました。(^o^)

＜Leaders＞
もちろんElon MuskもSam Altmanもしっかりリストに入っています。

だけど、様々なスタートアップ企業や、米国外（特に中国）でこんなにもこれからこの業界を引っ張っていきそうな勢いのあるビジネス・企業があるとは！（今さらながら驚きです。 (+_+)）

CEO and Founder, Waabi

The former chief scientist at Uber's self-driving unit founded autonomous-trucking startup Waabi in 2021, half a decade after the sector’s hype surge of the mid-2010s. Waabi is able to train its driverless software much faster and more cheaply than its competitors in part by driving virtual trucks inside a highly realistic AI-generated simulation

カナダの自動運転テクノロジー企業Waabi（ワービ）のCEOは、元Uberの自動運転部門にいた科学者。AI生成シミュレーションができる自動運転トラックのスタートアップです。
ふと、いわゆる「2024年問題」も、もし、この技術が日本で普及してれば解決できるのかも？と思いました。(>_<)

◆Robin Li
CEO, Chairman and Co-Founder, Baidu

Although the $48 billion firm has developed its own Kunlun microprocessors, it relies heavily on imports from California-based Nvidia, which the Biden Administration has barred from selling its most advanced chips to Chinese customers.

Li says "If the barrier becomes higher and higher for us to buy American chips, then domestic chips will become a viable option. There are lots of opportunities to innovate either way, so I'm optimistic about the future of AI."

中国のインターネット検索最大手の百度（バイドゥ）、独自のAI半導体「崑崙（クンルン）」を開発したものの、米バイデン政権が米国の半導体メーカーNvidia社に最新のチップの中国への輸出を制限していることについて
「米国チップを購入できない状況は中国国内チップを選択することになり、それがかえって国内技術のイノベーションを引き起こす！」とコメントするCEOのLi氏。

頼もしいなぁ（欧米に比べて情報が入ってきにくいけど、やっぱり中国の先端技術を駆使してる企業って純粋にすごいと思う。ＥＶだってすごい普及率！）（＾～＾）

＜Shapers＞
米国や、欧州のAIに対する規制当局・機関の動きについてはよく英文ニュースで登場しますが、もちろんこの動きは、着実に他の地域でも広がっているということを改めて感じました。

◆Ian Hogarth
Chair of the U.K.'s Frontier AI Taskforce

In April, Hogarth authored a viral piece for the Financial Times, in which he argued that the corporate race toward "God-like" AI posed a risk that could, in the worst-case scenario, "usher in the obsolescence or destruction of the human race."

Two months later, the U.K. government announced it had appointed the 41-year-old Brit as the head of the U.K.'s new AI safety initiative, now known as the Frontier AI Taskforce.

AI研究と安全性において世界の専門家と英国の国家安全保障コミュニティの主要人物を橋渡しする専門家諮問委員会。

今年6月、その議長に任命されたIan Hogarth氏（41歳）
11月2日、3日には、世界初のAIサミットが英国で開催されます。 (^ｰ^)
（主要国の政府高官や大手AI企業、AI研究者が参加する予定。中国だって招待されてるよ！）

Minister of Digital Affairs, Taiwan

台湾のデジタル大臣、オードリー・タン氏。日本にも何度か講演に来られていたりメディアでも話題にとりあげられるので、この人を知っている日本人は多いと思います。天才プログラマー、最年少で入閣したトランスジェンダーの大臣。(^^)d

While many politicians are focused on shielding democracy from the worst aspects of AI, Tang is experimenting with how to use it to enhance democracy- particularly in terms of AI regulation. Earlier this year, she collaborated with the Collective Intelligence Project policy organization to introduce Alignment Assemblies.

The online forums enable ordinary citizens to weigh in on a wide array of issues, including the uses, ethics, regulation, and impact surrounding AI.

Collective Intelligence （集合知）Projectの一環としてAlignment Assembliesプロジェクトを開始。
市民を巻き込んだ審議・フォーラムで意思決定をベースにAIの価値観を考え、リスク管理・低減を目指しています。
市民全員がAIの安全性と持続可能性に貢献できるようにするきわめて「民主的」なＡＩ活用ですね。
