マイケル・ケイン演じる「アルフィー」は、定職も持たず次から次へと女性遍歴を重ねる口八丁手八丁の色男。彼が狙うのは、看護婦、入院患者の妻、有閑マダム、家出少女と、どちらかというと弱い立場の女性たち。
いやあ、モテない男が見ると、このモテ男、非常に腹立ちますわ！すきあらば（第4の壁を乗り越えて）自分語り、理屈っぽく己の行為を正当化するのが、ほんと嫌い！

そんな彼も、結局はどの女もゲッチュすることができず（ザマア）、しかし、へこたれずに通りがかった犬とワルツを踊りながらのたまうモノローグより。
