【8デリ】台北医科大生との交流会①/Exchange Programme with Taipei Medical University-part 1- 2024/6/25

Hello, I’m Taiki Maruyama from the Eighth Division of UTokyo Diligent: International Co-Creation Platform (ICCP). Today, I would like to report the late exchange programme held on the 25th of June with students from several faculties of Taipei Medical University (TMU) , Taiwan.

Purpose

Before I start the description of the programme, allow me to introduce the objective of this programme. It was held by Diligent students on the occasion of TMU students’ visit in order to cultivate the relationship between each other.

Lecture at Komaba Campus

The former part of programme was a lecture. After PEAK students introduced about their campus life, Taipei students discussed how to tackle with the aging society. Then, Taipei students, USTEP students, and PEAK students broke into three groups to make a discussion, which was enriched by each student’s diverse, unique background. We were overwhelmed by their marvellous enthusiasm.

Dinner session

The latter part was an enjoyable dinner at typical izakaya, or a Japanese style pub. We had traditional  motsu hot pots. Motsu is basically comprised of internal organs from chicken, pork, or beef. It is rather uncommon in even Asian countries with the hot pot culture, if not completely rare in European regions. We are relieved that all participants enjoyed the eccentric yet lovely dish.

Enjoyable Motsu Nabe dinner
Surprising present from TMU students

At the end of the programme, each UTokyo students were given an unexpected, splendid gift from TMU students. I cannot help but to utterly appreciate their kindness. May the students from Japan and Taiwan continue such indispensable relationships based on mutual respect, understanding, and appreciation. Thank you for reading.
