The 3rd Mapper Festival Held!

Introduction.

Hello, nice to meet you.
I am tubasa_p.
One of the Beat Saber mappers.

We had requests to have the Mapper Festival translated into English after having the 1st and 2nd sessions in Japanese only, so here we go!
Sorry if my English is a little weird.

Mapper Festival Overview.

For those of you who aren’t sure what a mapper is, let me explain.
A person who makes maps for Beat Saber is called a “mapper”.
And then… When mappers come together to upload their own map for the same song on the same day? That’s the Mapper Festival!

In addition, we’ll make a playlist to compile all the uploaded maps for the Mapper Festival!
To all the players who don’t consider yourselves to be mappers, did you think you didn’t have anything to do with it? Well, it does!

Let's play maps made by different mappers!

What? you think a lot of similar maps will be uploaded?

No problem!!!

Everything from who the mapper was, who it was for, what kind of map it was, is what makes up the various maps!
What I mean is, no two snowflakes are alike!
Take a play through the playlist to see how different the same song can be!

Props to the player who uploaded a video of himself playing the map from the festival to a video-sharing website!
Feel free to do this yourself – just be sure to include the copyright notice in the description!

Purpose of the Mapper Festival.

  1. Raising the profile of mappers

  2. Learn from other mappers

  3. Get new people interested in mapping

  4. More mappers!

Mapper Festival Rules.

  • No difficulty restriction.
You are also free to create multiple difficulties, or just one for upload.

  • Any map type is acceptable.
Standard, speed, wall, tech, pauls… etc, whatever makes you happy!
However, if you plan to make a map that require certain mods to play (e.g. Feet Saber, noodle maps) that limits who could play, we would appreciate it if you indicated this in the title or description upon upload.

  • You can create a collab map with others.
If you’re doing a collab, please be sure to indicate all the names of the people who participated in the creation of the map in the song title, list of mappers, difficulty level, and/or the description section of Beat Saver (map upload site)

  • About the Music.
Adjusting volume, adding/cutting silence to match the beat to create the map is acceptable. However, please do not cut or arrange the music itself.

It might feel intimidating to make a map within a fixed timeframe, but we hope this doesn’t stop you from trying! No declaration of participation is required, so give it a try even if it pushes you out of your routine or comfort zone a little and upload it when you’re finished. If you don’t make it, you do not have to upload it.

Postscript

Thanks for reading this far!
From this point forward, the article is written for those who are new to mapping.

As previously mentioned, one of the objectives for the Mapper Festival is to increase the number of mappers. You there, who haven’t made any maps yet!
Why don’t you take this opportunity to debut as a mapper?

You may be interested in creating maps yourself but think it’s too hard. Creating a map requires a lot of preparation before you start, but once you get started, the controls are quite simple. Placing notes, walls, bombs… etc. is just one click away!

To simplify the preparation stage of the map creation, we wrote an article to help eliminate as much of the confusing but necessary preparation work for the song “Choice” for you.

If you’re interested in making a map for “Choice” by hitori oto, please take a look at the article below.

Once again, thank you all for reading this far!!!
We look forward to your participation!

Thanks mochichi for helping me produce the article!
