23 minutes。
DO you know what time this is?

It is the time it took to sell out the tickets for the last "TSUKUBA LIVE!”
How amazing that is!
This was a home game hosted by a university. It is nor a professional game nor the final of a national tournament, it just a home game. How ever, it is the “HOME GAME”.

“TSUKUBA LIVE!” is a home game created by the University of Tsukuba Athletic Department with more than 70 students strong effort including international students, involved for the event.
This time, I was one of the organizers, and would like to write about why I am involved in "TSUKUBA LIVE!”

Introduction

By the way, sorry for the delay of introducing myself!
My name is Mirai Komaru, a fourth-year student of Physical Education. I have been involved in “TSUKUBA LIVE!” since the last "SAMETETETATE". Last event I was in charge of running the social media account and this time I am in charge of media release. AKA the media man lol.
During my four years at university, I was a member of the track and field club, specializing in middle distance until the summer of my junior year. After junior year,  I left the club and got involved in starting up a ramen shop run solely by university students.

WHY I participate for TSUKUBA LIVE!

I want to increase the value of sports and make it more profitable.
This is the number one reason and is also my dream.

Looking at sports today, especially minor sports athlete that become Japan's No. 1 player during their college career do not continue their athletic careers after graduation because they cannot earn enough money.
They choose to not retire because they can make more money working for a company.
This is the current sports situation in our country.

We are waiting for an better oppurtunity. Sports in Japan will not develop any further.
If we continue like this, the children who play these sports cannot have "dreams”.

I have been a track and field athlete since junior high school. However, my "dream" was to become a "boat racer," a so-called gambling boat racer. The reason being is that I can earn money. There is a tendency to dislike earning money in our society. However, I believe that in order to have a "dream," one must have an aspiration, and money is necessary for aspiration.

That is why I want to make sports more valuable and profitable.
I am involved in “TSUKUBA LIVE!” as one step toward achieving my "dream”.

“TSUKUBA LIVE!" is a home game with the vision of "expanding the potential of college sports and creating interaction, excitement and culture through sports”. This new value created by sports will allow us to sell tickets, attracting people from the community, and involve business. By doing so, we are able to monetize sports.
We are continuing to take on the challenge of exploring how we can attract more spectators to buy tickets and come to "TSUKUBA LIVE!" and how we can communicate the value of the event through social networking sites and media releases.

We are now less than a month away from "TSUKUBA LIVE!” We will do our best to make it the best home game ever.

If you did not buy our tickets yet, please do so!
