３０年ほど前、初めてパリに行った時にサンドイッチを食べようとしてびっくりしました。
バゲット（いわゆるフランスパン）にハムやチーズを挟んだだけ。
パンもハムもチーズもおいしいので、サンドイッチもおいしかったのです。
でも、サンドイッチといえば、食パンにハム以外にレタスやきゅうりなども挟まれているものだという「常識」をもっていた私はすごくおどろきました。
