There is an organization called ENKA that seeks to promote cultural exchange between the UAE and Japan.
I have met the founder of ENKA several times when I was in Dubai.

Today, a picnic organized by ENKA members in Japan was scheduled to be held at Yoyogi Park.
The weather forecast had been calling for cloudy weather today for several days, so I was hoping it would not rain.

When I looked at the weather forecast yesterday afternoon, I saw that the forecast for today had changed.
Rain was predicted for Sunday in the afternoon.

I thought to myself, "This must be tough for the ENKA people to decide whether or not to cancel."
Before Corona, I used to organize barbecues every May and October.
So I understand how the organizers feel.

Last night, I received a message from ENKA that the picnic will be postponed.

I think it is a good thing that they decided early.

The organizers have gone to a great deal of effort to prepare for the event and would like to go ahead as planned if possible.
Those who will participate must also want to attend if possible.
But, "The weather forecast is for rain tomorrow, but is it going to be held?　When will we hear whether the event will be postponed or not?

ENKAというUAEと日本の文化交流を促進しようという団体があります。
ENKAを作った人には私がドバイにいた時に数回会ったことがあります。
その時はまだENKAはできていなかったと思います。

今日は日本にいるENKAのメンバーの人たちが企画したピクニックが代々木公園で開催される予定でした。
数日前から天気予報では今日は曇りとなっていましたので、雨が降らないといいなと思っていました。

昨日の午後天気予報を見たら、今日の天気予報が変わっていました。
日曜日は午後から雨の予報になっていました。

「これはENKAの人たち中止するかどうかを決めるのが大変だろうな」と思いました。
私はコロナの前までは毎年5月と10月にバーベキューを企画していました。
そのため、主催者の気持ちがわかります。

昨晩、ENKAの方からピクニックは延期するという連絡がありました。

早めに決めたことはよいことだと思います。

主催者はせっかく準備してきたので、できれば予定通り行いたいです。
参加する人も、できれば参加したいと思っているに違いありません。
でも、「明日は雨の天気予報だけど、開催するのかな？　延期するかどうかの連絡はいつ
来るんだろう？」と思っています。
延期すると決めた後、雨が降らなかったら、開催しておけばよかったなあと思うかもしれません。

天気予報の精度はどんどん上がっています。
でも、明日になるとまた天気予報が変わっている可能性もあります。

そんな中、早めに決断したのがとてもよいことだと思いました。
方針が決まれば、それに基づいて次の行動を考えられます。
