What I like about Philippine

No.2 traditions

Recently I posted note regarding to Philippine personality. Today, I would like to introduce what traditions there are and I got inspired.

Firstly, there are a tight family bond in Philippine. We can replace with friends habit also. I am now staying at host family’s house, so I can see how important the relationship among family so closely. For instance, host mother and sister go shopping to even closest grocery store with holding hands. They invited us to come together. I was so happy that we were considered as family members. Additionally, for friends relationships, Philippine always try to go to the place and say Hi to friends even a few minutes. I guess it is a cultural effect that people care about strong sense of unity.

Secondly, according to my personal opinion, people naturally have resilience towards their own difficulties. The reason why I consider it as a culture is because I haven’t seen Philippine got stressed out. During the examination season, It is typical for Japanese to become stressed and focus on the own given tasks. However Philippine is very good at releasing stress and have resilience towards personal issues. It might influenced by religion. To release stress, we need to care five types of perspectives. Social, emotional, spiritual, physical and financial. They are five dimensions of well being. I learned them in the session yesterday. I will mention about the resilience soon in this note.

Lastly, Philippine is multi cultural country. Once I went to bureau of immigration, We were at the mall. As we kept go though mall, I found that most of the store are foreign affiliated. There were hardly any stores descents. It was quite obvious that Philippine culture is containing multiple countries culture. That’s how Philippine developed. Import technology and leisure activities by developed countries, which are mainly from colonized Philippine in the past. As long as the Philippine develops, there are serious issues needs to be solved. As for the rapid increase of population need to be dealt with as urgent issues utmost.
