日記79 : Fireworks

I managed to see fireworks again this year. In summer, many fireworks displays are held everywhere, and in recent years, some are even scheduled in autumn. You can also find weekly events. Nevertheless, it’s still difficult to make sure you don’t miss fireworks.

First, the weather is the biggest problem. I realize I write about the weather too much, but in fact, climate change is a very serious issue, so it’s reasonable. Especially this year, there have been many sudden heavy rains in the evening. As bad weather becomes more frequent, there’s a greater chance that any fireworks events you plan to attend will be canceled.

The second barrier is the number of people. Nowadays, people search for any information about fireworks events on the internet just like you or I do, so each event has many attendees. This means that if you want a good view of the fireworks, you’ll either have to fight a reservation war and pay the fees, or spend more than half a day securing a spot before the event starts.

The hard part is, you need to find someone to go through these things with you. Overall, there are a lot of stressful things, so it may be difficult to maintain a friendly and positive mood until you go home on an insanely crowded train that takes two to three times longer than usual. Of course, you can go to see fireworks alone. It might be better to have more than two people because of certain risks, similar to when hiking, but you won’t have cell phone reception at the fireworks venue anyway. I wonder why almost no one goes alone. I know the general perception is that fireworks are something to enjoy and share with friends and family, or that they are associated with romance.  In reality, you have a risk to break your relationships because of these harsh things.

Therefore, to summarize, to make sure you see fireworks no matter what, you have to plan to attend multiple events in light of the possibility of cancellation, find several kind and healthy companions who are free on the dates, come up with a strategy to secure a spot to watch the fireworks, and then share and execute that strategy with your team. It's a very tough and difficult path to accomplish.
