Xion: The most famous traditional music in Korea is called Arirang. The song I'm going to introduce today is a little more modern than the usual traditional music. It means “Beautiful Country” In Japanese. The traditional instrument used in this song is called a kayagun. It is the most famous instrument in Korea. When I was in junior high school, I was a member of a kayagung circle. In this circle, we would sing while playing They use the kayagung to tell old stories. Question 3: K-POP is becoming popular in Japan, what do you think about it from the Korean point of view? What do you think is the attraction to like Korean music? Xion: I feel that Korean idols are already made rather than growing up. They are already good at dancing, singing, and acting, and many of them are perfect. I think people look for the perfect person as idols who are respected.
Korean idols have had practicing dancing and acting since they were young. These days, idols can do anything.


Q4: You were in the drama club in high school, what did you mainly do?
Xion: I worked as a sound staff. I worked in the field and edited music. I was also involved in making the music for the plays. It was. . hard to choose the right music for the play, but I felt a sense of accomplishment when it was praised by many people.

Question 5: Is there any difference when you hear that the original Japanese song is also available in the Korean version?
Xion: A famous Korean YouTuber has arranged and covered Japanese songs using Korean instruments. For example, he covers Kenshi Yonezu's "Lemon" by using Korean instruments. Kenshi Yonezu's Lemon sounds like a sad song about a lover who has died, but the Korean version sounds like a lover who doesn't want to go but is going away due to complicated situations. "Death," but the Korean song sounds like "a lover being separated by situations. For example, a lover has to go to war. The image of the song changes depending on the instrument.

Question 6: What does music mean to you, Sion? I'd like to know what Korean music has been encouraging to you, Xion!
Xion: For me, music is something I want to be with for the rest of my life. I'm happy just listening to music, and when I'm sad, I listen to music and it cheers me up.

Ririko: We are different because we are Japanese and Korean, but music doesn't need words. It has the power to bring people together.

Xion: The song "Sigh" by Lee Hi from Korea. This song has comforted and cheered up many people. When I heard this song when I was sad, it encouraged me and made me want to do my best for the day. Now that The meaning of this song is, "You're going through a tough time, but don't worry, we're here for you. I don't want other people to see me when I'm having a hard time, but I understand. ”
