Green Papaya Art Projectsへの寄付のお願い/Donation to GreenPapaya Art Projects
6月3日に友人でアーティストのNobert Rordan(Peewee)がマニラで運営しているインディペンデント・アート・スペースGreen Papaya Art Projects（グリーンパパイヤアートプロジェクト）の隣家が火災に遭い、Green Papayaの建物も半焼しました。幸いなことに火災による死者や怪我人はおらず全員無事でしたが、1980年から現在に至るまでのフィリピンのオルタナティブ・アートシーンに関する貴重な資料の一部が焼失してしまいました。火災のあった翌日、S N Sで連絡してみました。Peeweeによると、これから新しい場所を見つけてどうにか活動を再開し、資料の修復にも着手するとのことです。
Green Papaya Art Projectsはフィリピンのアーティスト・ラン・スペースとして最も古く、また最もアクティブであり、大変重要な場所です。今すぐにでも駆けつけて火災の後片付けや資料の修復の手伝いをしたいところなのですが、フィリピン、特にマニラは現在コロナ禍による厳しい入国・移動制限があります。そこで私はGreenPapayaと関係の深い友人たちと相談して活動再開のための寄付を募ることにしましたが、クラウドファウンディングのような形ではなく、個人から個人への寄付でよいのではと考え、Green Papaya のPayPalアカウントに直接振り込んでもらう呼びかけだけをすることにしました。もし寄付をしていただける方がいらっしゃいましたら、下記のPaypalアカウントに直接振り込んでみてください。

On June 3, the next house of the independent art space GreenPapaya Art Projects, run in Manila by an artist Noberto Roldan (Peewee) for more than 20 years, was destroyed by fire. The building was half burned. Fortunately, no one was killed or injured. However, some of the valuable material on the Philippine alternative art scene from 1980 to the present has been destroyed. According to Peewee, he will eventually find a new place and somehow resume his activities, and will begin repairing the material.
GreenPapaya Art Projects is one of the oldest, most active, and valuable place in the Philippines for artist-run space. We would like to rush to help clean up after a fire and help with the restoration of materials. Still, the Philippines, especially Manila, currently has severe immigration and travel restrictions due to COVID 19. So we decided to seek a donation to resume activities by consulting with friends closely related to GreenPapaya Art Projects. Still, we think that donation may be from individual to individual rather than in the form of cloud founding. We decided to only call for direct payment to the PayPal account of Green Papaya.
