A Extremely Hot Summer

Recently, I find myself unconsciously thinking about the heat. As proof of this, I even looked up how hot it was during the end of World War II. As a result, August 1945 seemed to be cooler than August 2024. There were also articles mentioning the occurrence of cold weather damage. However, weather is a phenomenon with many variables, making it difficult to predict. Therefore, the reason for the extreme heat is not necessarily due to climate change. There is also a theory that global warming is a temporary trend.
However, I feel that recent summers have gotten hotter. It’s just my impression, but even elderlies in the countryside complain how hot it has become. Until 2-3 years ago, I used to visit a junior high school club. Ten years ago, students wearing caps were few. However, the last time I visited, wearing caps had become mandatory. I was the only one not wearing one. Last year, the Koshien high school baseball tournament introduced cooling breaks. Starting this year, it will be held in two parts.
I can almost hear people from the Showa era saying, 'Don't spoil them.' The complaints about the heat seem to have started about five years ago. When I was in middle school and high school, it wasn't such a big deal, I guess. There wasn't even an air conditioner in my classroom. Perhaps as social media has matured, the issue of heat has also gained more attention. It is unbearably hot, but I hope to take proper measures and stay healthy to get through this year as well.
