Live Post

This event was held on April 29, 2023 at the Omorimachi CO-Valley (closed as of October) with seven people: four performers including myself, live painter Studio So, VJ hidekimasuda, and food provider Namiki Shoten.

The overall theme of "origin" was "yin-yang," and the event consisted of two parts: a performance and live painting that focused on the yin-yang diagram of day and night, yin and yang, and the two yin yangs, and the taiji, or taiji before the two are separated.

he members who participated and performed together for this event were:

・Piano:Naka Chia, who later performed with us at "Hibi no Awa",

・VJ:hidekimasuda, who also performed as a lighting artist at "Hibi no Awa",

・Bass:Kazuyoshi Nakaushi, who later performed with us at Jazz Quartet (article to be published in the future),

・ Sax: YUUE, who has performed with each other at events such as Oto Camp,

・Live Painting:Studio So, who is the manager of CO-Valley and creates digital art,

・Namiki Shoten, who has provided food for various events including the Hiphop group "Unplugged Jam Proud.

These were the six members of the group. This was the first time for the performing members to work together, but we were fortunate that they were able to work together so smoothly.

Reflections on the event

This event will be one of my 2023 events that I managed in particular detailing the use and intent of each time period in detail. However, it was not a festival in the sense of a festival, but rather focused on having people enjoy themselves during all hours of the day and night, including breaks.

In response to these detailed specifications, each person moved and expressed themselves perfectly, including the timing of the players and food service, and thanks to their efforts, we feel that this event was a very good conclusion to the event.

In addition, as mentioned earlier, I was able to perform with each of the people I met at this event in different gigs later on. The reason for this is that listening to and performing with each person on this day gave me ideas such as, "It would be interesting to perform with this person in a more specific genre," or "It would be more interesting to have this person perform with this person in an even more specific genre. For example, there were several moments during the improvisation when Mr. Nakaji was playing walking bass (bass quarter note as often heard in jazz), and I was so impressed by the centripetal force of his performance that I thought, "I would like to hear a jazz standard by this person and Mr. Nemoto. I was deeply impressed by the strong centripetal force of the moment, and I felt that "I would like to hear Mr. Nemoto play a jazz standard with this person. I was very impressed by his strong courtship at that moment, and I felt deeply that "I would like to listen to a jazz standard with him and Mr. Nemoto..." This was realized on October 4.

Many events that led to the conception of the next event also occurred on that day, and it will remain in my mind as a very important day for me, and will certainly lead to the next live performance.

「origin」ライブ後記

このイベントは、2023年4月29日、大森町CO-Valley(10月現在閉店)にて、自分を含む4人の演奏家とライブペインティングStudio Soさん、VJのhidekimasudaさん、フード提供のナミキ商店さんによる7人で開催したイベントでした。

この「origin」は、イベント全体のテーマを「陰陽」とし、陰陽図の表す昼と夜、陰と陽、そしてその2つが揃った両儀、またさらにそれが別れる前の太極を意識した演奏とライブペインティングによる、前後編2部のイベントでした。

メンバー紹介

この時今回のイベントのために参加・共演してくれたメンバーは、
・後に「ひびの泡」でも共演したPiano:Naka Chiaさん
・同じく「ひびの泡」でもLightingを務めてくれたVJ:hidekimasudaさん
・後にJazz Quartet（今後記事公開）で共演したBass:中司和芳さん
・Oto Campなど、互いのイベントで共演しあっているSax:YUUEさん
・CO-Valleyの管理人であり、デジタルアートを制作しているStudio Soさん
・Hiphopグループ「Unplugged Jam Proud」を含む様々な現場でフードを提供してくれたナミキ商店さん

以上の6人でした。
特に、演奏メンバーについてはこの日が初めての共演でしたが、とてもスムーズに取り組むことができたのは幸いでした。

イベントを振り返って

このイベントは、自分が2023年に開催したイベントのうち、特に細かく各時間帯の使い方や意図を細かく設定して運営したものになります。ただ、フェスというような形ではなく、休憩時間含め昼から夜にかけての全ての時間で楽しんでもらうことに重点を置いていました。

また、こうした細かな指定に対し、プレイヤーやフード出しのタイミングなど、各人完璧に動き、表現してくださり、おかげで本イベントは非常に良い締めくくりができたと感じています。

また、この時に出会った人とは、先述した通り、後々にそれぞれ別のライブで共演させていただいています。
これは、この日の各人の演奏を聴き、また共演したことで、「この人とはもっとこういうジャンルで演奏したら面白そうだ」「この人には、更にこの人と会わせてみるとより面白いだろう」というアイディアが湧いてきたのが理由です。
例えば、この時の中司さんは即興演奏の中で何度かウォーキングベース（ジャズでよく聞くようなベースの4分音符）を弾いていた瞬間があったのですが、その時の求心力がとても強く、感動したのがとても印象的で、「この人と根本さんのジャズスタンダード聴いてみたいな…」としみじみと感じていました。それが10月4日に実現し、やはり、と言いますか、非常に2人が噛み合ってくれたのを覚えています。

こうした次のイベントの構想につながるような出来事もこの日に数多く起き、自分の中でも非常に大切な1日として心に残り、そして次のライブへと確実に繋がっています。
