〇正解の丸写しに、人生の意味なし

　武蔵では、正解として印刷されているのと同じ解答しか書けない生徒は軽蔑されます。100点取った子が「0点」相当。

　なぜか？　

「お前が書いた解答のなかで、自分自身で考えた部分がどこにある？」

「全部正解に書いてあるものの引き写しジャン。そんなんなら、お前存在してないのと同じだよ。意味なし。おまえ意味ない」 

　こんなやりとりは、いまのソフトな学校環境で教師と生徒の間には絶対にあり得ませんが、旧制高等学校の先輩後輩の間、特に学寮で生活を共にし、ほとんど兄弟のように育った間柄の中では当たり前だった。

 　学寮に直前まで東大総長をしていた山川健次郎が宿直で泊まっていて、

「正解の丸写しに人生の意味なし」とやって、長岡半太郎などを育てたのと同じ式の、スーパーサイエンス全寮制スクールをやっていたわけです。

　私も日本に生まれて、日本で育ちましたから、日本の学校で教えられたわけです。そして、行き詰った。ひたすら、マシーンの如く「正解」を求め続けてきたら精神を病んで名古屋大学の入試５日前にノイローゼと診断されて入院させられてしまった。

　それが、アメリカの中学校で教師をしている時に開眼したのです。自覚はなかったのですが、日本では“皆と同じことをやるべき”という強い同調圧力がかかっているのですが、アメリカでは真逆の教育がなされていました。“皆と同じことをやっていたら成功できるわけがない”。

　そして、帰国して自分の塾を開設して痛感しました。塾の生存競争の中では、まさに
“多くの塾と同じことをやっていたら生き残れるわけがない”
　のでした。差別化は、善悪の問題ではなく生き残りには必須の条件です。つまり、他人と違うことをやるしか生きる道はないのです。

　日本は戦前の軍国主義を反省して、戦前の全てを捨てました。そして、アメリカの模倣を続けてきました。アメリカという「正解」を出すように、学校でも「正解」を出す教育を押し進めてきました。そして、行き詰った。中国に追い抜かれ、韓国に追いつかれ、インドが迫ってきています。

　本当は、戦前の
「お前が書いた解答のなかで、自分自身で考えた部分がどこにある？」
「全部正解に書いてあるものの引き写しジャン。そんなんなら、お前存在してないのと同じだよ。意味なし。おまえ意味ない」 
　という理屈が正しいでしょう。

　しかし、今の日本で
「おまえ意味ない」
　と、発言したらアカハラ、パワハラで訴えられそう(笑)。少なくとも“暴言”として、懲罰を受けるでしょう。だから、本当のことが言えない。
「頑張れば、何でもできる！」
　なんて、嘘を言わないと許されない雰囲気に満ちている。

　

　I was born and raised in Japan, so I was taught in Japanese schools. Then, I reached a dead end. I kept on searching for the "right answer" like a machine, and I got mentally ill, and five days before the Nagoya University entrance exam, I was diagnosed as neurotic and had to be hospitalized.

　This opened my eyes when I was working as a teacher at a junior high school in the United States. I was not aware of it, but in Japan, there is a strong peer pressure to "do the same thing as everyone else," but in the U.S., the education was the exact opposite. In the U.S., however, the opposite was true: "If you do the same thing as everyone else, you will never be successful.

　And I realized this keenly when I returned to Japan and opened my own cram school. In the competition for survival in the cram school industry, it is truly a matter of
"If you do the same thing as many other cram schools, there is no way you can survive.
　I was right. Differentiation is not a matter of right or wrong, but an essential condition for survival. In other words, the only way to survive is to do something different from others.

　Japan, reflecting on its prewar militarism, abandoned everything it had done before the war. And it has continued to imitate the United States. We have pushed for "correct" education in our schools, just as we have pushed for "correct" education in our schools, just as we have pushed for the "correct" answer, which is the United States. And we have reached an impasse. China has overtaken us, South Korea is catching up, and India is closing in.

　The truth is, the pre-war
'Where's the part of the solution you wrote that I thought of myself?'
If you think that's the case, you don't exist. If that's the case, it's as if you don't exist. You are meaningless. You are meaningless. 
　This logic would be correct.

　But in today's Japan
"You are meaningless.
　I would be sued for aka　harassment or power harassment (laugh). At the very least, you would be punished as "abusive language. That's why I can't tell the truth.
If you work hard, you can do anything!

　The atmosphere is filled with an atmosphere where you are not allowed to say anything but a lie.
