Day 3 : Life in the Countryside

"Yuka@2拠点ライフ実践中 (きよし)"...

Today is Marine Day, a national holiday here in Japan. For those who are not familiar with this, especially living outside of Japan, it should sound a little odd, I guess...

Some decades ago, the Japanese people sometimes were criticized that they worked too long and too hard. Then, the government at the time decided to provide more national holidays to them, and one of which is this Marine Day, supposedly celebrating our beach, sea and ocean in the hot summer day.

It hasn't been that hot, no, not at all..., thanks to the prolonged cool rainy season. It was not suitable to enjoy the beach today, should be too cold out there, so, should be better to go golfing at an inland course. Isn't this a good excuse for my golfing today??

By the way, we also have a relatively new national holiday in Japan, called "Mountain Day" in August, supposedly celebrating our mountains in summer. This should sound odd as well to certain types of people... Which country other than has the holidays having names like these??

Back to my golf story.
As you can see this photo, the course I went is such a beautiful one surrounded with some bijou houses, located in Chiba, not so far away from central Tokyo. These houses are relatively bigger here in Japan and located in the lap of nature (a little artificial, though), and thus appear to be popular for some richer people, including celebrities.

This scenery just reminded me of one of my friends who is also challenging her own 1,000 days.

She has lived in Tokyo for weekdays and Atami in weekends, the resort town surrounded by sea and mountains, a little far but easily reached from Tokyo. I am not sure if she lives in a similar types of bijou place, as she just started to share with us her two-location life. But, the scenery just provoked me to imagine how nice the life in the countryside should be.

This golf course was awesome, but during my playing, it's just made me imagine how my frind's life in Atami in the weekend.

So, I am looking forward to checking her note everyday, and hoping, someday, that she would invite me to that special place, haha.
And, wow, in Atami, you could celebrate both Marine Day and Mountain Day!

I also hope that more people would enjoy her note as well.

Last but certainly not least, do not ask me how good I played my golf...

Quote of the day:
My wish is to stay always like this, living quietly in a corner of nature.
