Day 1,613: subjugate, pariah, punctuate, deliverance



If Israel permanently relies on its army to subjugate the Palestinians, it would become an apartheid-enforcing pariah.

Israelis carrying out daily acts of oppression punctuated by rounds of killing would themselves be corrupted. For two peoples locked in a violent embrace, peace is the only deliverance.

subjugate: to defeat people or a country and rule them in a way that allows them no freedom
pariah: a person who is not accepted by a social group, especially because they are not liked, respected, or trusted
punctuate: to add punctuation marks (= symbols) to writing so that people can see when a sentence starts and finishes, see that something is a question, etc 
deliverance: the state of being saved from a painful or bad experience
