Day 107: Kazuo Ishiguro

Again, related with England...
Kazuo Ishiguro, a Nobel Prize winner, is a Japanese born, British writer.
Most of his books are translated to Japanese, and very popular here in Japan.

I've been reading "Remains of the day" in English, but not been able to finish yet, to my mortification...
But the sentences are very gentle and elegant, and not so difficult to read than expected.

So, I always think that I should finish reading it, but at the same time I think that I should save the best for last...

Of course that is my elegant excuse...but I'll make sure not to buy this Japanese version before I finish reading the original English version!

Word of the day:
mortification : 悔しさ、恥ずかしさ、悔恨

Quote of the day:
“What is pertinent is the calmness of that beauty, its sense of restraint.”
― Kazuo Ishiguro, The Remains of the Day
