Day 165 : Cloud Computing

It has been almost a decade that the cloud computing became one of the standardized ways of using computing technologies.
The momentum of using this way of computing would not stop until there is another new different way of utilizing computing powers. (Nobody knows what comes next..., but it could suddenly come up, maybe...)

So, in the future, nobody would use the on-prem computing?
I'm not sure, but I believe there are going to be some areas remained for the on-prem, especially for some specific bespoke application areas.

Sometimes, cloud computing is considered to be similar to the utility service such as Gas, Water and electricity.
When you want to drink, you just open a faucet.
When you want to use computing power for your business, you just click.

Water's quality is almost same nationwide.
Cloud computing's quality is not yet. It depends on the providers.
In this context, probably it should be considered to be similar to the public transportation.

The public transportation services vary.
If you want a cheap way, you get on bus.
If you want a fast way, you get on high-speed train, but you need to pay extra amount.

So, I believe, the cloud computing could be varied in the quality of service-level with the various pricing.

Word of the day:
bespoke : オーダーメイドの
Quote of the day:
If someone asks me what cloud computing is, I try not to get bogged down with definitions. I tell them that, simply put, cloud computing is a better way to run your business.
