Day 1: Edamame

毎日、「今日は総じていい日だったな」と思って寝る by ちくでん

It is not always easy for you to just think before you go to bed, that generally speaking, you've had a good day.

7 o'clock in this morning, I went to a local nearby farm to buy some freshly picked summer vegetables such as tomatoes, cucumbers, and edamame.

Edamame is becoming very popular among the world and I found some served in the fancy restaurants in New York and Singapore. It was surprising to me to find Edamame there, but more surprising was that they were twice or three times or more expensive than in Japan. You could say that is a proof of Japanese healthy food getting further popular globally.

Aside from whether the frozen edamame is healthy or not, I had one of the happiest morning with the freshly boiled edamame just picked up in the farm. I'll have the rest in the evening with some beer, of course, because I somehow managed myself to go without beer this morning...

Edamame and beer. This combination is like coffee and milk. They can go without themselves but they will give you such a synergetic effect if perfectly matched, that even if you were irritated by someone's sullen behavior, you would be able to survive, at your work, at the bar, or at home...

I already know that I will have said tonight, " I've just had a good day, generally speaking."

Word of the day:
Sullen (不機嫌な、無愛想な)

Quote of the day:
Usually the modest person passes for someone reserved, the silent for a sullen person.  - Horace (ホラティウス)-
