Kilimanjaro is a snow-covered mountain 19,710 feet high, and is said to be the highest mountain in Africa. Its western summit is called the Masai "Ngaje Ngai," the House of God. Close to the western summit there is the dried and frozen carcass of a leopard. No one has explained what the leopard was seeking at that altitude.

キリマンジャロは標高6007メートル、雪に覆われた山で、アフリカの最高峰と言われている。　その西の山頂は、マサイ語で、”ヌガイエ・ヌガイ”、神の家と呼ばれているが、その近くに、干からびて凍りついた、一頭の豹の屍が横たわっている。　それほど高いところで、豹が何を求めていたのか、説明し得た者は一人もいない。
