WSJ Minute Briefing - North Korea Conducts Another Ballistic Missile Test Launch

Here's your morning brief for Friday, October 14th. I'm Keith Collins for the Wall Street journal.

North Korea has conducted another in a series of ballistic missile test launches, according to defense officials in  Seoul and Tokyo. South Korea responded by flying jet fighters and opposing its first unilateral sanctions against Pyongyang in nearly five years. North Korea's army said the country had needed to take unspecified strong military countermeasures, according to State media.

In Washington, the house committee investigating the January 6th 2021 Capitol riot voted to subpoena former president Donald Trump for testimony and documents. Trump criticized the panel for waiting until the very end of its last meeting, but he didn't directly say he wouldn't cooperate.

Sources say the company's expected to Target private equity and industry players. It's far from certain there will be a deal and a buyer would likely have to pay a significant premium to Nutanix's market value of nearly 5 billion dollars.

US stock futures waiver to head of retail sales figures and consumer sentiment data due out this morning. and on the earnings front, a number of big banks are set to report results today, including City group, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan Chase, and Wells Fargo.
