従属節が前に置かれた場合、後方照応も可能
・When he was three years old, Mel lost his mother.
「3歳のとき、メルは母親を亡くした」
When Mel was three years old, he lost his mother.

・Mel lost his mother when he was three years old.
「3歳のとき、メルは母親を亡くした」
* He lost his mother when Mel was three years old.
