New House Exhibition - 今週のハウス新譜チェック 7.4-7.5

ハウスミュージックラウンジ「秋葉原住宅」棟梁のspinn.teramotoがその年の新譜をチェックしご紹介する世界の新築ハウスの展示場、「Antenna 2020」。毎週土曜日は「いつものアーティスト・いつものレーベルの新譜チェック」、そして日曜日は「いつもと違うジャンルやアーティストを探る」という方針でチェックしています。

The master of the house music lounge "Akihabara Jutaku (Akihabara Housing, Ltd.)", spinn.teramoto, checks out and introduces the new music of the year at "Antenna 2020", an exhibition space for new house music from around the world. Every Saturday, I check out the new releases from my usual artists and labels, and on Sundays, I explore different genres and artists.

ご紹介するのは、すべて僕が実際にダウンロード購入した曲。真剣勝負で選んだ楽曲たちです。さっそくご紹介していきますよ!

I'm going to show you all the songs that I've actually downloaded and purchased. These songs were chosen in a serious competition. Let's take a look at it right away!

1. The Vision feat. Andreya Triana - Mountains (Paul Woolford Remix)

この曲は、Joey Negroの新着リリースをチェックしていて出会った、Paul Woolfordのリミックスです。The Visionによるディスコ風味のオリジナルを、心地良いピアノリフと共にディープかつソリッドに仕立て直してる。最高にかっこいい。

I came across this song while checking out Joey Negro's new release. Here's a remix of the disco-flavored original by The Vision, Paul Woolford is making it deep and solid again with a nice piano riff. It's the best and coolest.

2. Fabio Tosti & Lee Wilson - Make It Tonight, Pt.2 (Opolopo Remix)

陶酔。こちらはハンガリー生まれでスウェーデンを拠点に活躍する技巧派Opolopoの素晴らしいremix仕事。音楽的素養の深さを感じさせるめくるめく展開と駆け抜けていくベースライン。素敵すぎ。

Euphoria. Here's the wonderful Hungarian-born, Swedish-based technocrat Opolopo's wonderful Remix work. A dizzying development and a bassline that runs through the song with a sense of musical depth. Too nice.

3. Alex Kenji & Luca Guerrieri - Await

地中海に浮かぶイタリア・シシリア島のMood Funk Recordsからリリースされたのは、同じくイタリア・ピサのプロデューサー、Alex Kenjiの「Await」。この低い重心位置からじわじわ持ち上げてく感じ、大好き。

It was released on Mood Funk Records in Sicily, Italy, a Mediterranean island. This is "Await" by Alex Kenji, also of Pisa, Italy. I love the way the song slowly lifts up from this low center of gravity.

4. ChicOlindo - Superstition (Original Mix)

米・ニューメキシコ州のPlastik Peopleからリリースされたのは、Joe OlindoとChico FlasのユニットChicOlindoで「Superstition」。中盤から存在感たっぷりで入ってくるピアノリフが最高です。

Released by Plastik People in New Mexico, USA, ChicOlindo, a unit of Joe Olindo and Chico Flas, have created "Superstition". The piano riff that comes in with plenty of presence in the middle of the song is the best.

5. Daniel Rateuke feat. Ursula Rucker - Or Stay Alive (Richard Earnshaw 'Inner Spirit' Extended Mix)

ここからは、新たな出会いを求めてbeatportを彷徨う日曜日の新譜チェックから選んだ曲です。1曲目は、Daniel Rateukeの「Or Stay Alive」をRichard Eranshawがリミックスした曲。長く待たせた後、ふわーっと入ってくるシンセの多幸感が印象的。

Here's a selection from Sunday's new record check out as I wandered around Beatport in search of new house to meet. Here's the first one, it's "Or Stay Alive" by Daniel Rateuke, a remix by Richard Eranshaw. After a long wait, the euphoria of the fluffy synths that come in is very impressive.

6. Earl Tutu, John Khan - What A Difference (Booker T Kings Of Soul Vocal Mix)

この曲はBeatportではなく、Traxsourceのヒットチャートで出会いました。これは、Earl TutuとJohn Khanの「What A Difference」という曲を、Kings of SoulことBooker Tがリミックスした心あたたまるバージョン。夕暮れのビーチが似合いそう。最高です。

I came across this song on Traxsource's hits chart, not on Beatport. This is a song called "What A Difference" by Earl Tutu and John Khan. Booker T, aka Kings of Soul, created this heart-warming remix version of the song. It's perfect for the beach at sunset. It's the best.

【This Week's 1-pick】Fabio Tosti & Lee Wilson - Make It Tonight, Pt.2 (Opolopo Remix)

今週の僕はとても悩みましたが、このOpolopoのダイナミックかつ精巧なリミックスを「今週の1曲」に選びたいと思います。Opolopoは最近精力的に活動していて、次々に素晴らしい曲がリリースされるので嬉しいですね。いつの日か、東京で彼のライブを観てみたいです。それか僕が、スウェーデンに行くのがいいかな。早くまた、いろんな国と自由に行き来できる日がきますように…。

This week it's very difficult for me to choose the "song of the week," eventurally I picked this dynamic and elaborate remix by Opolopo as my "song of the week". Opolopo has been on a roll lately, and I'm happy to see that he's been releasing more and more great songs one after the other! I'd like to see his live performance in Tokyo someday, or I could go to Sweden. Seriously I hope that we will be able to travel back and forth between different countries soon...
