New House Exhibition - 今週のハウス新譜チェック 8.15-8.16

ハウスミュージックラウンジ「秋葉原住宅」棟梁のspinn.teramotoがその年の新譜をチェックしご紹介する世界の新築ハウスの展示場、「Antenna 2020」。毎週土曜日は「いつものアーティスト・いつものレーベルの新譜チェック」、そして日曜日は「いつもと違うジャンルやアーティストを探る」という方針でチェックしています。

The master of the house music lounge "Akihabara Jutaku (Akihabara Housing, Ltd.)", spinn.teramoto, checks out and introduces the new music of the year at "Antenna 2020", an exhibition space for new house music from around the world. Every Saturday, I check out the new releases from my usual artists and labels, and on Sundays, I explore different genres and artists.

1. Demarkus Lewis - Holy Ghost

本当にリリースが多くて、今週も3つのレーベルからそれぞれEPを発表してるダラスのベテラン・Demarkus Lewisの「Holy Ghost」。艶のあるベースと華やかなコード感。暑い夏に涼を届けてくれるクールな曲です。

It's "Holy Ghost" from Dallas veteran Demarkus Lewis, who has releases from three labels this week. Glossy bass and gorgeous chords. It's a cool song that brings coolness to the hot summer months.

2. Immaculate Styles feat. Lisa Shaw - Give In To Me Tonight

これは艶やか! かつてNakedで活躍したLisa Shawをボーカルに迎えたImmaculate Stylesの「Give In To Me Tonight」をスウェーデンのテクニシャンOpolopoがリミックス。最高!

This one is glossy! Swedish technician Opolopo remixes "Give In To Me Tonight" by Immaculate Styles, featuring former Naked member Lisa Shaw on vocals. Great!

3. Massiande - Body

ロンドンのNo Fussからリリースされた、チリのアーティストMassiandeの「Body」。曲名に「Body」と入ってるときは良曲率が高いという法則に従って聴いてみたら素晴らしい疾走感。

Chilean artist Massiande's "Body" was released on London's No Fuss. The rule of thumb is that when a song has "Body" in the title, it's a good song.

4. Chris Udoh - Everlasting

カナダ・バンクーバーのNoric Traxからリリースされた、アメリカのアーティストChris Udohの「Everlasting」。淡々と進むミニマルな構成が、かき氷を食べ進むときのような涼しさを感じさせます。

Released on Noric Trax in Vancouver, Canada, "Everlasting" by American artist Chris Udoh. The minimalist composition, which progresses unhurriedly, is as cool as going through a shaved ice.

5. Adelphi Music Factory - Jura

これは格好いいな。英ブリストルのレーベルShall Not Fadeからリリースされた、Adelphi Music Factoryの「Jura」。90年初頭のレイブスタイルを取り入れつつ、現代的な端正さも備えたサウンドが嬉しい。

This is a cool one. Adelphi Music Factory's Jura, released on the Bristol-based Shall Not Fade label in the U.K. It's a delightful take on the rave style of the early '90s, but with a modern, neat sound.

6. Charlie Banks - Dance With Me (Jesse Maas Remix)

ロンドンを拠点に活動するDJ兼プロデューサー・Charlie Banksによるディープなハウスを、オランダのJesse Maasがリミックスした曲。このシュアーで固いトラックメイキングが良いー。

Deep house by London-based DJ and producer Charlie Banks, remixed by Dutchman Jesse Maas. This surly, hard trackmaking is good!

7. Arnold From Mumbai - Roots (Pezzners Body Language Mix)

なかなかいい出会いに恵まれなかった今週。手がかりを求め、敬愛しているPezznerが今年1月にリリースしたリミックスを聴いたらすごく良かった。彼らしい、端正なトラックが好印象です。

This week, I haven't had a good encounter a lot. I listened to a remix released in January of this year by Pezzner, who I admire and admire for his clues, and it was really good. I liked the neat track, which is typical of him.

I decided to go with this song as my "song of the week," and the marriage of Dr. Opolopo's typical colorful chord progression and bass line blended beautifully with Lisa Shaw's voice. I thought it was a rich song.
