New House Exhibition - 今週のハウス新譜チェック 8.8-8.9

ハウスミュージックラウンジ「秋葉原住宅」棟梁のspinn.teramotoがその年の新譜をチェックしご紹介する世界の新築ハウスの展示場、「Antenna 2020」。毎週土曜日は「いつものアーティスト・いつものレーベルの新譜チェック」、そして日曜日は「いつもと違うジャンルやアーティストを探る」という方針でチェックしています。

The master of the house music lounge "Akihabara Jutaku (Akihabara Housing, Ltd.)", spinn.teramoto, checks out and introduces the new music of the year at "Antenna 2020", an exhibition space for new house music from around the world. Every Saturday, I check out the new releases from my usual artists and labels, and on Sundays, I explore different genres and artists.

I'm going to show you all the songs that I've actually downloaded and purchased. These songs were chosen in a serious competition. Let's take a look at it right away!

1. DJOKO - Overflow

ドイツのアーティスト、DJOKOことJohannes Kolterの「Overflow」。溢れ出すシンセの波が爽やかです。ある時期のAril Brikhaとか好きだった人はきっと気に入るんじゃないかな。気持ちいい!

'Overflow' by German artist Johannes Kolter aka DJOKO. It's refreshing to hear the waves of synths pouring out. If you liked Aril Brikha at one point in time, you'll love it. It feels good!

2. Leandro Di - Rave With Me

アルゼンチンの首都ブエノスアイレスのアーティスト、Leandro Diの「Rave With Me」。濃厚な90年代ハウスクラシックの香りを纏った、女性ボーカル説教ハウスです。すごく好きなやつ。

"Rave With Me" by Argentinean capital city of Buenos Aires artist Leandro Di. It's female vocal "preaching" house with a hint of rich 90s house classics. A very favorite of mine.

3. Dave Mayer & Kapal - Chicago Jazz

これは涼しげ! シカゴを拠点とする信頼の老舗ハウスレーベルLarge Musicからリリースされた、ベルリン在住のアーティストDave Mayerのひたすらクールを感じるディープハウス。素敵。

This is cool! Berlin-based artist Dave Mayer's incessantly cool deep house release on Chicago-based trusty old house label Large Music. Lovely.

4. Oreja - Vazilando (Moon Rocket Remix)

2002年にリリースされたOreja「Vazilando」を2020年にリミックスしたEPから、Moon Rocketによるラテンエレクトロニックな味付けのリミックスが面白いトラック。オケヒットがめっちゃ効いてて笑う。聴いてるだけで笑顔になる曲です。

An interesting track from the 2020 remix of Oreja's "Vazilando" EP released in 2002, with a Latin electronic flavored remix by Moon Rocket. The orchestra hit works so well and makes me laugh. It's a song that will make you smile just by listening to it.

5. 2XM - Tiger's Eye

うわこれ超素敵。ニュージーランドのデュオ2XMで「Tiger's eye」。真夏の夜の夢、って感じの浮遊感のあるトラック。こういう曲を、夕暮れのビーチの潮の香りと暑気との中で楽しみたいね…。

Wow, this is super nice. "Tiger's Eye" by New Zealand duo 2XM. It's Just like a midsummer night's dream, a floating track. I want to enjoy this kind of song in the heat and scent of the beach at sunset.

6. Gentle Fred - Tonight

これは元気が出るトラック。ベルギーのリエージュ在住のアーティストGentle Fredの「Tonight」。すばらしい疾走感。最高。

This is an energizing track. 'Tonight' by Gentle Fred, an artist living in Liege, Belgium. Great running speed. Great.

7. ManyFew - Get Close

ここからは新たな出会いを求めて彷徨う日曜日の新築ハウスミュージックチェックです。スウェーデン・ストックホルムの兄弟デュオ、MenyFewの「Get Close」。Spinnin'らしい、難しいことが何もなくてひたすら爽やかなハウス。気持ちいい。

From here It starts that new house music check for Sundays as I wander around in search of new people to meet. 'Get Close' by Swedish-Stockholm sibling duo MenyFew, a breezy house with nothing too difficult to do that's typical of Spinnin' label. It feels good.

8. Fat Sushi - Angry Driver

INDIE DANCEの棚で出会ったこれ面白い。Fat Sushiってアーティスト名で「Angry Driver」って曲名で、真面目に調べる気持ちを維持するのが難しいけれど（笑）、どうもスイスの2人組のようです。ミックスの中でちょっとスパイスを効かせるのに良さそうなトラック。

Interesting this one I came across on the INDIE DANCE shelves - Fat Sushi is the name of the artist and the song title is "Angry Driver" and it's hard to keep up the eagerness to look it up seriously (lol), but they seem a Swiss duo. A good track to spice things up a bit in the mix.

9. Sebb Junior & IDA fLO - Gimme Love

フランスのDJ/プロデューサーSebb Juniorの「Gimme Love」。間もなくリリースされるRichard Earnshawによるリミックスも良さそうだったけど、夏らしく派手でドリーミーなこのオリジナルバージョンが素晴らしくて購入ボタンを押しました。

French DJ/producer Sebb Junior's "Gimme Love". The soon-to-be-released remix by Richard Earnshaw sounded good, but this original version, flashy and dreamy in a summery way, was so good that we hit the buy button immediately.

【This Week's 1-pick】Sebb Junior & IDA fLO - Gimme Love

「今週の１曲」はこの曲に決めました。すっかり真夏の日差しと気温と湿度が包み込む東京で、このトラックが持つ熱いエネルギーとギラギラした輝き、ハウスの醍醐味である固いキックの4つ打ちがとても気持ち良く聞こえます。

I decided on this one as my "song of the week". In Tokyo, where the sunshine, temperature and humidity of midsummer are enveloping the city, this track's hot energy and sparkle, and the four-humping hard kicks that house music is all about, sound really good.
