New House Exhibition - 今週のハウス新譜チェック 9.19-9.20

こんにちは。ついに日本でもこの週末に公開された映画「TENET」を観てきて最高に満足している「秋葉原住宅」ですが、毎週の新築ハウスミュージックレビューもしっかりやっていきますよ。

Hello. "Akihabara Housing, Ltd." has seen and much satisfied with the movie "TENET", which was released this weekend in Tokyo, and I'll also be doing our weekly new house music review.

ハウスミュージックラウンジ「秋葉原住宅」棟梁のspinn.teramotoがその年の新譜をチェックしご紹介する世界の新築ハウスの展示場、「Antenna 2020」。毎週土曜日は「いつものアーティスト・いつものレーベルの新譜チェック」、そして日曜日は「いつもと違うジャンルやアーティストを探る」という方針でチェックしています。

The master of the house music lounge "Akihabara Jutaku (Akihabara Housing, Ltd.)", Spinn.Teramoto, checks out and introduces the new music of the year at "Antenna 2020", an exhibition space for new house music from around the world. Every Saturday, I check out the new releases from my usual artists and labels, and on Sundays, I explore different genres and artists.

ご紹介するのは、すべて僕が実際にダウンロード購入した曲。真剣勝負で選んだ楽曲たちです。さっそくご紹介していきますよ!

I'm going to show you all the songs that I've actually downloaded and purchased. These songs were chosen in a serious competition. Let's take a look at it right away!

1. Si Tew - We Endeavour (Abel Remix)

Atjazz 率いるAtjazz Record Companyからリリースされた、Si Tew「We Endeavour」のリミックス。透明感のある音のランドスケープが柔らかく広がる、気持ちいい曲です。

A remix of Si Tew's "We Endeavour" released by the Atjazz-led Atjazz Record Company. It's a pleasant song with a softly spreading landscape of transparent sounds.

2. Tonis - Off Peak

米・ニューメキシコのレーベルPlastik People Digitalがリリースした、彼らの3枚目のレーベルコンピレーションで1曲目を飾っているのが、Tonisの「Off Peak」。凝った作りの音の配置が、万華鏡みたいにめくるめく美しいパターンを描きます。

Tonis' "Off Peak" is the first track on the third label compilation of New Mexico label Plastik People Digital. The elaborate arrangement of sounds creates a kaleidoscopic, dazzlingly beautiful pattern.

3. 9th House - Ruling Planet

ロンドンのレーベルShall Not Fadeからリリースされた、同じくロンドンのアーティスト9th Houseの「Ruling Planet」。3分18秒の短い曲ですが、一聴して印象に残るシンセベースが素晴らしくクールです。格好いい。

Released on Shall Not Fade in London, this is "Ruling Planet" by another London artist, 9th House. It's a short song at 3 minutes and 18 seconds, but it's a cool song with a great synth bass that leaves a lasting impression on first listen. Very cool.

4. Jimpster - Smile For A While

ロンドンの孤高のディープハウス系レーベルFreerangeを主宰するJimpsterことジェイミー・オデルの新曲。ハウスミュージックというフォーマットで、独自の世界観とストーリーを語る吟遊詩人の本領発揮です。何がディープって文化がディープ。

New song from Jamie O'Dell, aka Jimpster, who runs London's lone deep house label Freerange. The bard is in his element, telling his own world and story in the house music format. What of their deep house is deep, is their culture.

5. Vanco - We'nsizwa

ここからは日曜日の新築ハウスチェックで出会った曲を紹介します。南アフリカ、ヨハネスブルクのアーティストVancoの「We'nsizwa」。曲名はズールー語で「若い男」という意味らしい。ミステリアスで重心が低い、アフロハウスならではの魅力がある曲です。格好いい。

From here are the songs I came across during Sunday's new house check. It's "We'nsizwa" by Vanco, an artist from Johannesburg, South Africa. The song's name apparently means "young man" in Zulu. The song is mysterious, low center of gravity, and has a unique Afro house appeal. Cool.

6. Dua Lipa - Pretty Please (Midland Refix)

デュア・リパ様の「Pretty Please」を、Midlandがリミックスした曲。元曲のポップさを残した、軽いタッチの仕上げで大変気持ちいいです。

Midland's remix of "Pretty Please" by Dua Lipa. It's very pleasant with a light touch that retains the pop feel of the original song.

7. Disco Gurls - Never Stop

わはははこれは楽しいな。バルセロナのGuareber Recordingsからリリースされた、Disco Gurlsの「Never Stop」。80年代エレポップの味がするシンセサウンドのリフレインが、問答無用で盛り上げます。いやー楽しい!

Hahaha this is fun. Released on Barcelona's Guareber Recordings, "Never Stop" by Disco Gurls, a synth refrain with a taste of 80s elep-pop that must get you excited. Oh no, it's fun!

8. Martina Budde - I Want to Feel Your Love

そしてDisco Gurlsを聴いた耳には、さらにこの曲のポップさもぐっときた。女性DJ Martina Buddeがリリースした「I Want to Feel Your Love」です。何の迷いもない、ただひたすら気持いいハウス。最高です。

And for ears that have heard Disco Gurls, the pop of this song is even more charming. Female DJ Martina Budde has released "I Want to Feel Your Love". It's just pleasant house with no hesitation whatsoever. It's the best.

【This Week's 1-pick】Vanco - We'nsizwa

ポップなテイストのハウスミュージックが心地良かったこの週末ですが、「今週の1曲」にはこの曲を選びたいと思います。良いハウスミュージックの特徴のひとつは、単にその曲が良いというだけでなく、その曲がつながっていくその先を予感させ、期待させる性質があると思います。この曲は、抑えたトーンの奥に、マグマのような「期待させる力」を持っていて、印象に残りました。

While I was pleasantly surprised by the pop-tinged house music this weekend, I'd like to choose this song as my "song of the week". I think one of the hallmarks of good house music is not just that the song is good, but also its propensity to foreshadow and anticipate the destination to which it is connected. This song has a magma-like "anticipatory power" behind its restrained tone that left a lasting impression on me.
