Embers
A sparkling moment
that I thought had gone away
came to the surface
And I started drowning
in the sea of smoldering memories
losing control
Let bygones be bygones
I wished saying it calmed the storm
and it were that simple
I faced the moment
and the force of the fire slowly abated
It was just meant to be
I remember her smile
and I wish she still wore that smile
that brings heaven
It surely did, to me
Thank you for melting the hard ice
and for the precious lessons
