臨終の際の臨済禅師の問いに「喝」と答えた弟子に、逆説的だという意見こそあれ、やはり臨済禅師は幻滅したのではないか。臨済禅師がそうであったように「新しい人」の出現を切願していたのではなかろうか。「新しい人」といえば、トーマス・マートンの著作を思い出す。

本題。ジャズピアニスト、ジェシカ・ウィリアムスさんのラストアルバムの一曲目。カーペンターズに同タイトルの曲があるが、こちらはジャズのスタンダード。最後の作品のタイトルを "With Love" とした、ジェシカさんの「祈り」が込められた、瞑想的なソロピアノアルバム。
