As an experiment to convey ideas in an easy-to-understand manner

Continuation of yesterday's post. The idea I wrote yesterday, "Creating an NFT of the competition record to create artistic asset value in the marathon" is difficult to understand, so I thought about how I could convey the image.

Replacing my idea with analog rather than digital, I realized that I would like to make the claim, "Wouldn't it be normal to sell gold medals and certificates as art so that athletes who played an active role could receive monetary rewards?"

It was something that I could easily try using my smartphone, so as an experiment to predict the future potential of this idea, I put 3 items up on a flea market app for 3 million yen.
It is a trophy for the 1100km ultramarathon around Taiwan that I won in 2013 , certificate of the race , and Taiwanese newspaper article about it ⤵

As an image of NFT, it feels like this kind of item has become digital data with a certificate.

I don't think anyone will bid on this listing, but if this was Usain Bolt's gold medal, there would be millionaires and companies who would buy it for hundreds of millions of dollars, right?

The problem with this idea is that the organizers of the tournament will find it offensive and may face penalties such as expulsion from the federation.

Therefore, this is an experiment that only I can do because I have already decided to retire from competitive activities, and active athletes cannot do this kind of thing casually. However, rather than continuing to compete in a situation where there is no economic reward even if the results are outstanding, while the funding is tight, this kind of trading has become commonplace, and the act of buying the athlete's honor is a kind of status. I would like to say that there is a future for the economic development of sports as a whole, and that more young people will dream of running an ultramarathon.

Especially in the future, it seems that more and more people will be immersed in e-sports and fun experiences in virtual space, so I feel that it would be better if there was a value shift like this in real sports as a contrarian.

*If this exhibition is really successful, I would like to try the competition record NFT business with that money.
