1985年3月安藤広一が脱退、そして大江慎也が再び精神状態を悪化させ入院、残されたメンバーは決断を迫られた
新たなヴォーカリストを探すか、解散など可能性があったと思うが、花田裕之がヴォーカルをとる事でバンド継続を決意、短期間でシングル”SOS”とアルバム”NEON BOY”完成させた

特にアルバムタイトルチューンのNEON BOYは素晴らしく、柴山花田コンビによる、花田ルースターズの代表曲のひとつ、NEON BOYのレコーディングにはサンハウスの柴山俊之、奈良敏博が参加している
ルースターズではもちろん、ROCK’N’ROLL GYPSIESのライブでも演奏されている

1985年7月、7インチシングル曲をまとめた初のベスト盤”Collection 1980-1984″と12インチシングル”SOS”を同時リリース
1986年9月フルアルバム”NEON BOY”をリリース
CD化される際に”NEON BOY”と”SOS”をカップリングして発売された

NEON BOY is an album by the Roosters (Roosterz), released on September 21, 1985.
The Roosters made their debut in November 1980 with the single “ロージー／恋をしようよ”.(Rosie / Let’s Make Love)
The Roosters initially had a high-octane sound based on R&B, blues rock, and punk rock, with a focus on covers of the Rolling Stones and Chuck Berry.
The Roosters did many covers, such as the Champs’ “Tequila,” Eddie Cochran’s “Come On Everyday,” and Bo Diddley’s “Mona,” but they continued to release a number of speedy songs, such as the original “ロージー(Rosie)” and “恋をしようよ(Let’s Make Love).
However, in the middle of the band, the first vocalist, Shinya Oe, left the band due to mental health problems. After that, guitarist Hiroyuki Hanada took over the vocals, but the band stopped its activities in 1988. Since then, the band has been active on an irregular basis since around 2009.
